Fiber
April 25, 2026 at 11:27 AM
Expanded Fiber stub with verified gathering sources (grass, bushes, Zerine purchase), processing chains, and major recipe uses.
Fiber is one of the most heavily used basic materials in Starsand Island. It is collected by chopping grass, bushes, and small plants with any axe or tool, and is also sold by Zerine at Zerine's General Store for 5 Coins each with infinite stock. Fiber feeds three primary processing chains: Charcoal production, fabric production, and rope production.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Source | Cut grass, weeds, and small plants; or buy from Zerine for 5 Coins each |
Tool required | Any axe or any tool (also drops by hand) |
Stock at Zerine | Infinite (always available) |
Charcoal production. Charcoal Kiln recipe: 1 Softwood + 2 Fiber = 2 Charcoal. Charcoal is the smelting fuel for Furnace I recipes.
Fiber Rope. Made at Chopper I from Fiber. Used in Spinning Wheel and Loom construction, and many mid-game recipes.
Thread. Made at Spinning Wheel from Fiber. Feeds the Loom for fabric production.
Bug Net. Recipe: 2 Softwood + 2 Fiber at Worktable I.
Slingshot. Uses Fiber as one of its base components.
Cutter I construction. The processing station uses Fiber in its build recipe.
Fine Salt. Charcoal Kiln recipe combines Salt Brick and Fiber to produce Fine Salt, a common cooking ingredient.
Fiber drops from cutting grass, weeds, bushes, and small plants. The fastest gathering routes are Hopeland (around the player farm), Green Meadow's grassy patches, and the open paths between Starsand Town and other zones. Grass regrows daily, so daily sweeps keep Fiber stockpiles topped up.
Buy from Zerine when in a hurry. At 5 Coins per Fiber and infinite stock, buying is faster than bushwhacking when you need Charcoal in bulk.
Process in batches. Run multiple Charcoal Kilns. Each batch consumes 1 Softwood + 2 Fiber and produces 2 Charcoal. You will burn through hundreds of Fiber across mid-game smelting.
Keep a Spinning Wheel queue. Even if you do not need Thread immediately, queuing extras keeps the Loom fed for fabric production.
Combine routes. Sweep grass while doing daily NPC visits or commute trips. Gathering is essentially free time spent.
