Overview

Emperor Angelfish is a saltwater fish species found in the ocean waters around Starsand Island. Recognized by its regal blue and yellow striping, this fish is one of the more valuable standard ocean catches at 152g. Unlike its cousin the Blue Angelfish (98g, spring/winter, any weather), the Emperor Angelfish only appears during rainy summer days, making it significantly harder to catch. Its limited availability and higher sell price make it a prized target for experienced anglers working on their Islandpedia completion or looking to turn rainy summer days into profit.

Where to Catch

Emperor Angelfish appear in the general Ocean zone. Cast from any ocean fishing spot along the coastline, including Blue Beach and Half-Moon Bay. The key challenge is the rainy summer weather requirement. Rain events during summer are not guaranteed on any given day, so you may need to check the weather each morning and head to the coast when rain is forecast.

Bait and Fishing Tips

Emperor Angelfish require Meat Bait exclusively. Craft it at the Chopper station and keep a supply ready throughout summer so you can move to the coast the moment rain begins.

• Tip: Rainy summer days at the ocean are prime fishing time. Besides Emperor Angelfish, other rain-exclusive summer ocean species may also appear. Bring plenty of Meat Bait and plan for a full session.

• Tip: At 152g, Emperor Angelfish are tied with Flathead Catfish as one of the higher-value standard catches. If the Merchant Ship is docked, selling at double value yields roughly 304g per fish.

• Tip: Compare with Blue Angelfish: Blue is easier to catch (any weather, two seasons, two bait types) but worth less (98g). Emperor is harder but pays 55% more per catch.

• Tip: The time window (08:00 to 22:00) covers most of the day. If rain starts in summer, you have a long window to work with. Do not rush; plan a steady session and reel in as many as possible.

Uses

• Cooking: Process at the Separator into Fish Fillet. However, at 152g sell price, you may want to sell the fish raw and use cheaper species for fillet production.

• Selling: Sells for 152g at standard shops. One of the best standard ocean catches for raw income. Save for the Merchant Ship to roughly double your return.

• Gifting: Can be gifted to certain NPCs. Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost is known to appreciate fish gifts.

• Fish Pond: Place in a Fish Pond for display and breeding. Its blue and yellow striping makes it a visually striking pond addition.

• Islandpedia: First catch unlocks a new Islandpedia stamp. The rain-only requirement makes this a common missing entry for players who avoid rainy-day fishing.
