The Coral Sea is one of three offshore deep-sea fishing zones in Starsand Island, alongside Luminwave and Celestwave. It is accessible via the Parrot Ship from Starsand Port. The Coral Sea features unique fish species that cannot be caught anywhere else on the island, making it essential for completing the Islandpedia fish collection.
To reach the Coral Sea, you must first complete the Starsand Port Construction quest. This quest requires 15 Stone and 15 Softwood, and the port opens the next day after completing it. Once the port is operational, talk to Marston at the pier to access the Parrot Ship, which provides fast travel to the three deep-sea fishing zones.
Select the Coral Sea from the Parrot Ship destination list. The ferry takes you directly to the fishing platform in the Coral Sea area, where you can fish from the designated spots.
The Coral Sea contains a distinct set of fish not found in freshwater areas or the other ocean zones. Species here tend to be larger and harder to catch, requiring at minimum a Noble Rod (Intermediate Angler tier) to manage the tension reliably. Complete the Starsand Port Construction quest as early as possible to unlock deep-sea fishing.
Upgrade to at least the Noble Rod before visiting. Lower-tier rods will result in frequent line snaps on Coral Sea fish.
Bring Meat Bait for the larger predator fish in the area. Bug Bait also works for some specific species.
Check the Islandpedia to see which fish are exclusive to the Coral Sea so you know what to target.
Visit during different seasons, as some Coral Sea fish are seasonal.
Bring food that grants cooking buffs for fishing. Some meals provide increased catch rates or reduced tension.
