Shade is the player character in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The game casts you as a lone, mysterious racer chasing revenge and glory, and that pairing of personal vendetta and ambition drives the entire campaign. Shade is the figure you build, tune, and race as across every tour.
Motivation
Shade carries a personal grudge against the Bool family, which puts the protagonist on a direct collision course with the reigning Galactic League Champion, Kestar Bool. That grudge is what makes Shade useful to Darius Pax, the League's founder, who is trying to wrest control of his circuit back from Kestar. Pax recruits Shade specifically to challenge and unseat the corrupt champion, so revenge and Pax's agenda end up pointing the same direction.
Allies
Shade does not race alone. Two figures stand out as support during the campaign.

Within The Galactic League, Shade and Kestar Bool are framed as the two central figures of the campaign, even though many other pilots are competing for the top spot.
