Kestar Bool is the antagonist of Star Wars: Galactic Racer and the reigning Champion of The Galactic League. He is the racer at the top of the circuit, the pilot every challenger is ultimately measured against, and the one the protagonist Shade is recruited to bring down.
The corrupt champion
The game describes Kestar as as talented as he is villainous. He dominates the League that Darius Pax founded, and he uses his position as Champion to threaten other pilots and to extend his already powerful reach further still. His grip on the circuit is part of why Darius Pax goes looking for an outsider to challenge him: Pax wants control of his league back, and Kestar will not give it up willingly.
The central rivalry
Kestar and Shade are the two main characters of the campaign. Shade's personal grudge against the Bool family makes the conflict more than a contest for a title; it is personal on Shade's side, and Kestar's standing as both champion and threat makes him the obstacle the whole story is built around. The game frames their rivalry as one that will define the course of the Galactic League. Many other pilots are chasing the top spot, but the campaign keeps its focus on the two of them.
Even as tours reset and runs begin again, the goal of taking down Kestar Bool persists across attempts, so he functions as the fixed target at the center of the runs-based campaign. For how that structure works, see Runs and Tours, and for the wider cast, see Characters.
