Hibi is the engineer who builds and upgrades Shade's vehicles in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. She is an Ardennian, and official material calls her Shade's expert mechanic and ardent supporter, as well as Shade's talented mechanic and loyal friend. She is a constant presence between races, because every planet's paddock has her workshop in it.

The character profile on the game's official site describes Hibi as a whirlwind of oil, sparks and unstoppable ambition. It credits her with an instinctive genius for engineering and a sometimes-worrying enthusiasm for things that explode. She throws herself into every problem with reckless confidence and a grin full of mischief, and she is eager to prove herself by building the best racing vehicles in the galaxy.
Her history with Shade predates the League. Shade's own profile says the pair spent years transporting cargo of varying legality across the galaxy together before Darius Pax's League offered Shade a new start. She is still at Shade's side once the racing starts.
In the Paddock
Between events, Shade returns to the paddock, and each planet's paddock features Hibi and her workshop. That is where builds change. Shade fits new parts there, either earned during a run or bought from Hibi, and those parts grant stat boosts and abilities suited to a chosen racing style. Official material adds that she occasionally slips an experimental part or two into a build to keep things interesting. Voice
Hibi is voiced by Lucy Montgomery, an English actor, comedian and writer who has worked across film, television and games for more than two decades. Fuse Games' Music and Narrative Director, Nathaniel Daw, has said Hibi was initially a real challenge to cast. As Shade's main companion and ally she needed to sound friendly and welcoming while still carrying the enthusiasm for repulsorcraft that defines her. Montgomery was the one who first suggested basing the voice on a Liverpool (Scouse) accent, and Daw has said that the moment the team heard it, they knew they had found their Hibi.
