Commissions are the rotating live-event track in Soulbound: Online. Short jobs tied to the skills you already use go live on a schedule, the whole server pushes at the same target, and taking part pays two currencies that buy cosmetic sets nobody can buy with money. The studio is blunt about that last part: the currencies are earned by turning up, and they redeem at the Pioneers Guild.

Daily live events shipped on 7 August 2026, opening with a fishing event and an abyssal raid event, and the track has been tuned in every patch since. This page covers how an event resolves, where the schedule lives, what the two currencies buy, and what is in rotation right now.

How an Event Works

Most events are cumulative. A global contribution bar runs for everyone at once, and the whole player base fills it together. An event can carry a timer, a progress bar, and a ranking of everyone who took part. When the bar fills, the event closes and rewards go out to your in-game mailbox, scaled by what you personally put in. If the bar never fills and the timer runs out, the event counts as unfinished and pays nothing at all, which is the pressure that keeps people showing up.

Those mechanics come from player-gathered documentation rather than from a patch note, so read the fine detail as current practice rather than a fixed rule. One piece of it is first-party and worth knowing exactly. Fishing events no longer cut you off when the server-wide bar fills: the 13 August 2026 patch removed the global cap outright, so reaching 10 personal contribution during a fishing event qualifies you for rewards no matter what the rest of the server does.

Reward chests that appear after an event used to overlap the exit portals. That was fixed on 28 July 2026, and the chests now sit clear of them.

Finding the Schedule

A button beside the minimap opens the event interface. It lists what is running right now and what is queued next, which is the only reliable way to catch a short window. Some events close in minutes once enough people arrive, so arriving early matters more than playing well.

Events Running Now

Both repeat on a schedule rather than running once, so a missed window is not a missed event. There is one Abyssal Raid, not two. Player-maintained documentation describes it inconsistently, in one place as a weekly raid and in another as an hour-long session near the Virelda graveyard, but the studio gives its cadence as a tridaily one-hour window against the two giant robots deep in the eastern reach. The dungeon ladder is unaffected either way.

The fishing event has one convenience worth knowing: you do not need a rod for it. Catches pay Infused Yoku Chum instead of fish, and a Blackwake vendor on the boat trades chum for one of three crates.

The two dearer crates roll extra pulls from the utility and rare pools, and the rare pool is where Followers and mounts come from. The launch announcement for live events put it plainly: the lootboxes at the bottom of the Neo-Tilus Reef are where the exclusive pets and mounts live.

Types of Event Challenge

Challenges come in two lengths. The longer ones run for roughly a week and are the main source of Commission Medals, and they are often finished inside a couple of days, so joining early is worth more than it looks. The short ones open for a window measured in minutes and are the main source of Commission Credits.

Player-maintained documentation sorts these challenges into fixed cadence buckets and disagrees with the studio's own listing about how often the short ones come round. The event interface beside the minimap is the only schedule worth trusting, and it is the reason this table describes what each challenge asks of you rather than when it runs.

Commission Credits and Commission Medals

Neither currency is for sale. The studio states outright that they cannot be bought for money, and both redeem at the guild in Virelda. Some events also hand out a supplementary turn-in item that converts into a few Credits, which is a slow trickle rather than a real income.

The figures below come from player-gathered documentation rather than from a patch note, and payouts move as the track is tuned. Read them as the current shape rather than as fixed values.

The Cosmetic Sets

Two sets are in rotation at any time. A weekly set is paid for in Commission Credits and a monthly set in Commission Medals, and each costs 100 of its currency for the whole lot. Pieces are priced individually as well, so you can buy a hat now and the rest later. Sets rotate out but keep their listing, and the studio has said anything that has been available can come back around.

Cactus, the Monthly Set

Eight pieces, 100 Commission Medals for the lot. This is the set that carries the Wiggling Cactus, a Follower rather than a piece of armour.

Sets Out of Rotation

Custom Robot was the previous weekly set, also seven pieces at 100 Commission Credits for the lot. The 20 August 2026 patch swapped the weekly cosmetic reward for a new set, which is the rotation working as designed rather than a one-off.

Separate From the Cosmetic Store

Commission cosmetics are earned, never sold, and it is worth being clear about the boundary. The paid cosmetic store the studio has described, which would sell cosmetics, Followers and furniture for a premium currency, has not opened. It sits on the published plan for after the Early Access launch alongside the other unshipped economy features. Nothing on the commissions track passes through it, and nothing on the commissions track can be bought with money.
