Breeding is a core gameplay system in Roco Kingdom: World that allows players to produce new Spirits through the egg system. By pairing two compatible Spirits together, players can hatch offspring with inherited stats, natures, and special traits. Breeding is tightly integrated into the Spirit Travel (精灵旅行) system, which is the primary framework for managing the breeding process from pairing through hatching.

Before players can begin breeding, they must first complete Chapter 3 of the main story to unlock the Home System. The Home provides the necessary facilities for pairing Spirits, incubating eggs, and managing offspring. Without access to the Home System, the breeding menu and related functions remain locked.
Several conditions must be met before two Spirits can produce an egg:
Same Egg Group (蛋组): Both Spirits must belong to the same Egg Group. There are 15 Egg Groups in total, and each Spirit species is assigned to one or more groups. Spirits that share at least one Egg Group in common are considered compatible.
Opposite Genders: The two Spirits must be of opposite genders. Genderless Spirits cannot breed through the standard system.
Home System Unlocked: Players must have completed Chapter 3 of the main story to gain access to the Home System.
There are 15 Egg Groups that categorize all breedable Spirits. Some Spirits belong to multiple Egg Groups, increasing their compatibility with a wider range of partners. Legendary and mythical Spirits typically belong to the "Undiscovered" Egg Group and cannot breed.
Spirit eggs can be obtained from multiple sources throughout the game. The following table summarizes the primary methods of acquiring eggs.
Egg Source | Description | Key Benefits |
|---|---|---|
Standard Breeding | Pair two compatible Spirits in the Home System breeding facility. Species matches the mother; bloodline traits come from the father. | Controllable species and stat inheritance |
World Boss Drops | Defeat world bosses in cooperative encounters (3-5 players). Boss eggs drop as rare rewards. | May contain exclusive species unavailable elsewhere |
Map Treasure Eggs | Found at specific hidden locations across the world map. These are one-time pickups that respawn after server resets. | Free eggs; useful for Rainbow Perfect Spirit method |
Friend Spirit Blessing Breeding | Breed with a friend's spirit through the social breeding interface. Considered the optimal method for perfect-nature spirits. | Best method for Rainbow Perfect Spirits; access to spirits you do not own |
Story Eggs | Given by NPC Iris during the Unicorn Storyline. Guaranteed remarkable talent stats plus the Co-ride trait. | Guaranteed top-tier talent and mount capability |
Event Eggs | Distributed during seasonal events and limited-time activities. May contain exclusive species or shiny variants. | Time-limited exclusives |
4-player co-op dungeons with daily rotating spirit encounters. Can yield hybrid spirits unavailable elsewhere. | Exclusive hybrid species |
Once two compatible Spirits are placed together in the breeding facility, they will eventually produce an egg. The species of the offspring is always determined by the mother. If the mother is a Flame Fox, the egg will hatch into a Flame Fox regardless of the father's species. The father's primary contribution is passing down bloodline traits.
After an egg is produced, it must be incubated before it hatches. Hatching time varies by species and ranges from as short as 0.5 hours to as long as 20 hours. Eggs do not hatch passively based on real-world time alone. Instead, hatching progress is driven by in-game movement distance. Walking, running, and flying across the open world all accumulate hatching progress, with faster travel methods covering more ground and therefore hatching eggs more quickly.
Players can incubate up to 3 eggs simultaneously. Riding a mount spirit across the map is one of the most efficient ways to accumulate hatching progress quickly.
Players can retrieve an egg from the incubator at any time. However, removing an egg resets its hatching progress entirely. Any movement distance accumulated toward that egg is lost and starts from zero if placed back later.
Each spirit hatched from an egg receives randomized height and weight values. These physical characteristics can be used to predict certain hidden attributes of the hatched spirit. Experienced breeders track height and weight patterns across multiple hatches to identify optimal stat distributions, as certain height/weight ranges correlate with specific IV spreads.

Roco Kingdom: World features five distinct egg types beyond the standard breeding egg, each with its own properties and guaranteed qualities.
Egg Type | Chinese Name | Source | Guaranteed Properties |
|---|---|---|---|
Perfect Egg | 了不起资质蛋 | Special breeding conditions or rare drop | Guaranteed "remarkable talent" (了不起资质) stat classification. The highest standard talent tier obtainable through regular breeding. |
Story Egg | 剧情蛋 | Given by NPC Iris during the Unicorn Storyline | Guaranteed remarkable talent stats plus a special ability. The Story Egg unicorn also comes with the Co-ride trait, allowing it to serve as a mount. |
Custom Shiny Egg | 自选异色蛋 | Unlocked after obtaining 10 individuals of the same species | Allows the player to self-select the specific shiny pattern and color. Full control over the visual appearance. |
Shiny Egg | 异色蛋 | Breeding with shiny parent Spirits, rare drop, or special events | Guaranteed shiny individual. Using a King Ball during hatching further guarantees remarkable talent classification. |
Alternate Color Egg | 炫彩蛋 | Breeding with alternate color parent Spirits or special events | Guaranteed alternate color individual with a unique color palette distinct from both standard and shiny variants. |
Friend Spirit Blessing Breeding is a social breeding method where you breed with a friend's spirit rather than one of your own. This system is accessed through the multiplayer social interface and is widely considered the optimal method for obtaining perfect-nature spirits. The key advantage is access to spirits and egg groups that the player does not personally own, dramatically expanding breeding options without requiring additional captures.
When breeding through Friend Spirit Blessing, the same egg group and gender requirements apply. The offspring species is determined by the mother, regardless of which player owns her. The friend's spirit contributes bloodline traits and potential hidden characteristics just as a locally owned father would.
Rainbow Perfect Spirits are the ultimate goal for competitive breeders, combining top-tier stats with special visual variants. There are three confirmed methods for obtaining them:
Fated Flower Seeds + Rainbow Balls: A limited monthly selection of specific flower seeds that, when combined with Rainbow Balls during the hatching process, guarantee a rainbow-quality spirit. This method is time-gated by the monthly rotation.
Map Treasure Eggs + Rainbow Balls: Eggs found at hidden map locations can be hatched with Rainbow Balls to produce rainbow-quality spirits. This method requires thorough exploration of the world map to locate treasure egg spawn points.
Friend Spirit Blessing Breeding + Rainbow Balls: Eggs produced through Friend Spirit Blessing Breeding are hatched with Rainbow Balls. This is widely regarded as the best method because it combines the stat control of selective breeding with the rainbow guarantee of the Rainbow Ball. It is repeatable, not time-gated, and allows precise species targeting.
The breeding system includes specific inheritance rules for shiny and alternate color traits.
Parent trait boost: If either parent possesses a shiny or alternate color variant, the offspring has an increased chance of hatching from a Shiny Egg or Alternate Color Egg respectively. Pairing two special-variant parents stacks this bonus further.
Base chance without special parents: Even when neither parent is shiny, there is still a small baseline chance of producing a special variant egg.
King Ball guarantee: Using a King Ball during hatching of a Shiny Egg guarantees remarkable talent classification. This is the most reliable method for producing competitive-grade shiny spirits.
When an egg hatches, the offspring inherits certain attributes from its parents. Inheritance is probabilistic rather than guaranteed.

Nature: The offspring has a chance to inherit the nature of either parent. Natures affect stat growth rates, making nature breeding a common competitive strategy.
Individual Values (IVs): Hidden individual values determine baseline stat potential. Higher IV parents tend to produce stronger offspring.
Talent Grade: Talent grades range from common tiers up to "remarkable." Higher-grade parents increase the odds of high-grade offspring.
Egg Moves: Certain spirits can learn moves through breeding that they cannot learn through normal leveling. By choosing the right father, trainers can pass exclusive moves to the offspring.
Using a Royal Ball during hatching guarantees maximum talent grade. Trainers aiming for competitive-grade spirits often save Royal Balls for eggs from high-IV, desirable-nature parents to maximize the value of each ball used.
The Strange Beast Flora is a 4-player co-op dungeon system that can yield hybrid spirits not available through standard breeding. These dungeons feature daily rotating spirit encounters, and the hybrid offspring combine traits from two different species in unique ways. Strange Beast Flora is one of the most sought-after sources of rare spirits for dedicated breeders.
Experienced trainers approach breeding with specific goals in mind. The most common strategies include:
Nature Hunting: Repeatedly breed spirits until offspring with the optimal nature for a given role (physical attacker, special attacker, tank) is produced.
IV Optimization: Pair parents with complementary high IVs to gradually produce offspring with strong stats across the board.
Shiny Chaining: Use shiny or alternate color parents to boost the probability of hatching special variant offspring.
Egg Move Passing: Choose the right father to pass exclusive moves to the offspring's move pool.
King Ball Shiny Farming: Breed two shiny parents to maximize Shiny Egg probability, then use a King Ball to guarantee remarkable talent.
Rainbow Perfect via Friend Blessing: The premier strategy. Breed with a friend's spirit for precise species/nature targeting, then apply a Rainbow Ball during hatching for rainbow-quality output.
Always check Egg Group compatibility before committing to a breeding pair. The in-game Spirit detail screen displays Egg Group assignments.
Ride a flying mount spirit while incubating eggs. Flying covers the most distance in the least time.
Save Royal Balls for eggs from high-IV, desirable-nature parents.
If you need a specific species but only have the father, find a mother of that species in the wild first.
Visit friends' worlds to catch starter spirits you did not choose at the beginning. These expand your breeding options.
Do not retrieve eggs from the incubator unless absolutely necessary. Removing an egg resets all hatching progress.
When targeting shiny variants, prioritize breeding two shiny parents together.
Collect 10 of any species you want a custom shiny for. The Custom Shiny Egg lets you pick the exact pattern and color.
Use Friend Spirit Blessing Breeding whenever possible. It is the most flexible breeding method and the best path to Rainbow Perfect Spirits.
Track height and weight patterns across hatches to identify optimal stat distributions.
