Player Character: Little Roco
The player character, known as Little Roco (小洛克), is a new student at the Magic Academy. Unlike most magicians in the kingdom, Little Roco is identified early on as the kingdom's first light-type pet owner, a trait that sets them apart and becomes central to the plot. Light-type magic is exceptionally rare in Roco Kingdom, and its emergence signals a shift in the magical balance of power.
Little Roco travels and fights alongside their companion spirit Dimo, forming a bond that deepens as the story progresses. The player's choices throughout the campaign, from the initial starter spirit selection to late-game alliance decisions, shape how other characters perceive and interact with them.
Dimo
Known in Chinese as 迪莫, Dimo is the player's signature Light-attribute companion spirit and one of the most recognizable creatures in the entire Roco Kingdom franchise. Dimo is characterized by its large, expressive eyes and an oversized head relative to its body, giving it an endearing appearance that has made it a fan favorite for years.
Dimo communicates exclusively by repeating its own name in various tones and inflections, a trait that other characters learn to interpret over time. Despite this limitation, Dimo displays a wide range of emotions and often reacts to story events in ways that convey meaning beyond words.
Under special magical influence, Dimo can alter its own physical structure, unlocking powerful evolved forms that play a critical role in key story battles. This ability ties directly into the lore surrounding light-type magic and becomes a plot point during the final chapters of the main story.
Princess Coralia
Princess Coralia (可丽希亚公主) is a pink-themed companion character who accompanies the player through much of the main story. She is the player's primary adventuring partner, joining the party early in the campaign and remaining a constant presence through the final chapter.
Coralia has a mischievous personality that frequently lands her (and by extension, the player) in unexpected situations. She is quick to act and slow to plan, which creates both comedic moments and genuine danger during critical story beats. Despite her impulsive nature, Coralia is fiercely loyal and demonstrates real courage when her friends are threatened.
Her royal status occasionally opens doors that would otherwise remain closed, granting the player access to restricted areas and political figures, including her father, St. Andrew.
Griffin
Griffin (格里芬) serves as the headmaster and dean of the Magic Academy. He is one of the most powerful and knowledgeable magicians in the kingdom, respected by students and faculty alike.
Years before the events of the game, Griffin discovered a young child who had been abandoned and left to fend for himself. Griffin took the child in, raised him, and eventually enrolled him at the Academy. That child was Enzo, who would grow up to become the Academy's most gifted student before his tragic fall to darkness.
Griffin carries a deep sense of guilt over Enzo's transformation, believing he failed his adopted son. This guilt drives much of his behavior during the story: he is cautious, sometimes to a fault, and reluctant to put students in harm's way. He serves as a mentor figure to Little Roco and provides crucial guidance during the campaign's most challenging moments.
St. Andrew
St. Andrew (圣安德鲁) is the reigning King of Roco Kingdom. As the kingdom's sovereign, he oversees both the mundane governance of the realm and the regulation of magical affairs. St. Andrew is Coralia's father, and his authority plays a role in several story missions where royal intervention is required.
While he does not accompany the player on adventures, St. Andrew provides political support and military resources at key points in the narrative, particularly during the final assault on the dark faction's stronghold in Chapter 7.
Shelly
Shelly (雪莉) was Enzo's beloved teacher at the Magic Academy. Although she does not appear as a living character during the events of the game, her presence looms large over the entire story.
Shelly's death is the pivotal event that drove Enzo to darkness. The exact circumstances of her death are revealed gradually through flashbacks, journal entries, and NPC dialogue. What becomes clear is that Shelly was a compassionate and gifted teacher who saw the best in Enzo and believed in his potential. Her loss shattered him, leaving a void that the ancient entity Nightmare was able to exploit.
Shelly's memory serves as the emotional anchor of the main story. Several characters, including Griffin, reference her teachings and ideals when rallying against the dark faction. Her legacy is ultimately what inspires Enzo's redemption arc in the final chapter.
Enzo
Enzo (恩佐) is the primary antagonist of Roco Kingdom: World and one of the most complex characters in the story. He was the 13th generation Chief Magician and the Magic Academy's top student, widely regarded as the most talented magician of his era.
Adopted by Griffin as a child after being abandoned, Enzo grew up within the Academy and excelled beyond all expectations. His fall began with the death of his teacher Shelly, an event that left him emotionally devastated. In his grief, Enzo became vulnerable to the influence of Nightmare (噩梦), a 100,000-year-old evil entity that parasitized him through an Evil Seal.
Under Nightmare's influence, Enzo became the Dark Wizard King, commanding the black-clothed organization that the player encounters throughout the campaign. Despite his villainous role, Enzo is portrayed sympathetically. Flashbacks reveal a kind and dedicated student who was broken by loss and manipulated by forces beyond his comprehension.
The player's final confrontation with Enzo is less about defeating an enemy and more about breaking through to the person he once was. His story arc is central to the emotional weight of the game's conclusion.
Nightmare
Nightmare (噩梦) is the true final antagonist of the main story. An ancient evil entity that has existed for over 100,000 years, Nightmare predates the founding of Roco Kingdom and has been sealed away multiple times throughout history, only to return each time.
Nightmare's primary method of control is through Evil Seals, magical parasites that attach to a host and gradually bend their will. Enzo was Nightmare's most powerful host, but evidence scattered throughout the game suggests that Nightmare has manipulated other key figures across the centuries.
The final battle against Nightmare requires the combined forces of the player's guardian spirits, the Asura King, and the Gefanpu King. The fight spans multiple phases and pushes the player's team to its limits. Nightmare's defeat marks the end of a threat that has haunted the continent for millennia.
LuLu
LuLu (露露) is the cheerful guide character who greets new players at the very start of the game. She provides the initial tutorial, explaining basic movement, spirit summoning, and the Academy's layout. LuLu's warm and encouraging personality makes her a welcoming first point of contact.
While her role diminishes after the early chapters, LuLu occasionally reappears to offer advice during major story transitions and to celebrate the player's milestones.
Iris
Iris (伊里斯) is a mysterious NPC who becomes available during the late-game Unicorn Storyline. She possesses deep knowledge of ancient magical traditions that have been lost to mainstream scholarship.
After the player completes a series of trust-building quests, Iris reveals that she has been safeguarding a Story Egg, a rare artifact containing a unicorn. She entrusts the egg to the player, setting in motion one of the game's most rewarding optional arcs. The unicorn that hatches from the egg serves as both a powerful companion spirit and a rideable mount.
Lumeng
Lumeng (露萌) is an evil-type researcher stationed in the S1 seasonal hall. She is an expert in dark and forbidden magic, though she uses her knowledge for academic purposes rather than malicious ones.
Lumeng commissions the player to investigate a creature known as Dragon Breath Parsa, a rare spirit tied to seasonal events. Her questline introduces players to seasonal content mechanics and offers rewards that rotate with each season's updates.
