ACCURACY FIX: Remove fabricated Cotton crop data - Remove Cotton profit comparison from Wheat article
Wheat is a Starter-tier farmland crop that grows in all four seasons, making it one of the most reliable plants on your farm. It is available from the very start of the game before any Farmer certification, and its seeds can be purchased year-round from the Happiness Seed Shop.
While Wheat is not the most profitable crop to sell raw, it is one of the most important crops in the game because of what it produces after processing. Wheat is the sole source of Flour, a base cooking ingredient required by more than 25 recipes across the Campfire, Gas Stove, and Oven stations. Flour appears in everything from Plain Noodles and Soup Dumplings to high-value dishes like Black Forest Cake, Tiramisu, and Sweet and Sour Pork. Keeping a steady supply of Wheat growing at all times is essential for any player who wants to progress through the cooking system.
Wheat is also one of twelve purchasable all-season crops, meaning it grows during Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter without interruption. This makes it a dependable backbone crop that never goes out of rotation, even while your seasonal crops change every 28 days.

Wheat Seeds are sold at the Happiness Seed Shop in Starsand Town for 50g per bag. The shop is run by Graminova and is open from 10 AM to 9 PM. You can interact with the cash register directly without needing to speak to Graminova first.
Because Wheat is a Starter crop, its seeds are available from the very first time you visit the shop. There is no Farmer certification requirement to unlock them. Seeds are sold year-round regardless of the current season, so you can stockpile Wheat Seeds at any time.
At the Senior Farmer tier, you can also build a Grinder station that converts harvested crops back into seeds. This means you can turn some of your Wheat harvest into new Wheat Seeds instead of buying them from the shop, effectively removing the 50g seed cost from future plantings.
Wheat grows on standard farmland. Till a patch of soil with your hoe, plant the Wheat Seed, and water it. Growth time is 18 hours of real time, starting from the moment the seed goes into the ground. Once the plant matures, walk up to it and harvest by hand to collect 4 Wheat.
Wheat is a single-harvest crop. After you pick it, the plant is gone and you need to replant a new seed. This is different from Trellis crops like Cucumber or Tomato, which can be harvested multiple times from a single planting.
You can speed up Wheat growth using fertilizers. A single application of Ripening Fertilizer I (Apprentice Farmer, 15g per 5 bags) instantly advances growth by 8 hours, cutting the 18-hour growth time nearly in half. Ripening Fertilizer II (Junior Farmer) advances by 13 hours, and Ripening Fertilizer III (Intermediate Farmer) advances by 25 hours, which is more than enough to instantly complete a Wheat crop.
Placing Bumblebee hives near your Wheat plots also boosts growth speed significantly. Combined with sprinklers for automatic watering, this makes Wheat farming almost entirely passive.
Wheat sells for 16g per unit at Zerine's General Store. Since each harvest produces 4 Wheat, a single harvest sells for 64g total, resulting in a net profit of 14g after the 50g seed cost.
On a gold-per-day basis, Wheat earns 18.7 g/day, which ranks it near the bottom of the Starter tier for raw profit. Sunflower (37.0 g/day) and Sweet Potato (37.0 g/day) both earn more per day. However, Wheat's true value lies in Flour production, not raw sales.
The Merchant Ship pays 200% of the normal sell price when it docks, effectively doubling Wheat's sell value to 32g per unit. If you have excess Wheat that you do not need for Flour, selling during a Merchant Ship visit is the best option.
Wheat's primary purpose is processing into Flour, one of the eight base cooking ingredients. Flour is used in more recipes than almost any other base ingredient, making a reliable Wheat supply critical for cooking progression.
Two stations can convert Wheat into Flour:
Separator: Available early in the game as a Starter-level Crafter blueprint from Zerine's General Store. The Separator instantly processes 1 Wheat into 1 Flour. This is the primary method most players use throughout the entire game.
Grinder: Unlocked at the Senior Farmer tier. The Grinder also converts 1 Wheat into 1 Flour and can additionally process Rice into Rice Flour, Coffee Beans into Ground Coffee, and Spices into Spice Powder.
The conversion ratio is 1:1 for both stations. Four Wheat from a single harvest produces exactly 4 Flour. Building multiple Separators allows you to process large batches of Wheat quickly if you are cooking in bulk.
Flour is one of the most versatile cooking ingredients in the game. The following table lists every recipe that requires Flour, organized by cooking station. Many of these dishes sell for far more than raw Wheat, making cooking the best way to profit from your Wheat harvest.

Two Juicer recipes use raw Wheat directly instead of processed Flour. Both require large quantities of Wheat (12 per batch) and provide unique buffs that are not available from any other recipe.
Recipe | Station | Ingredients | Stamina | Sell Price | Buff |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
12x Wheat | +98 | 212g | On the House | ||
12x Wheat, 1x Corn | +136 | 400g | Double Loot |
On the House gives a chance to receive a full refund after buying a scratch card. Double Loot gives a chance to obtain double drops when the Bounty Hunter skill triggers. Both buffs last 120 seconds and 240 seconds respectively. Suncloud Sip in particular is one of the most valuable Juicer recipes at 400g sell price.
Like all crops, Wheat has an Everlasting (Immortal) seed variant. Crops grown from Everlasting Wheat Seeds produce Wheat indefinitely after each harvest without replanting, and they ignore season restrictions entirely.
There are two main ways to obtain Everlasting Wheat Seeds:
Eternal Blessings skill: A passive perk at the Senior Farmer tier. Every crop harvest has a random chance to drop an Everlasting Seed of that crop type.
Creamy Seeds buff: Eating Mirthshroom Soup (crafted from 2x Mirthshroom at the Campfire) grants a temporary buff that increases the chance of dropping Everlasting Seeds when harvesting. Mirthshroom spores are found in the Moonlit Forest.
Once you have Everlasting Wheat Seeds, every subsequent harvest is pure profit since you never need to buy or replant seeds again. This eliminates the 50g seed cost and makes Wheat much more efficient for long-term Flour production. If you dig up an Everlasting Wheat crop, the Everlasting Seed is returned to your inventory.
Grow Wheat continuously from the start of the game. Even before you unlock the Separator, stockpiling Wheat means you will have Flour ready the moment you build one.
Keep at least 8 to 12 Wheat plots running at all times. Flour-heavy recipes like Black Forest Cake, Cheesecake, and Tiramisu each require 8 Flour per batch. Running out of Flour is one of the most common bottlenecks for cooking progression.
Build multiple Separators to process Wheat into Flour in parallel. A single Separator handles one conversion at a time, so having two or three speeds up bulk processing.
Plain Noodles (4x Flour, sells for 44g) is unlocked during the Apprentice Farmer Trial and is one of the earliest recipes available. Cooking Plain Noodles and selling them earns more than selling 4 raw Wheat (64g vs. 44g is less, but the stamina value of +39 makes it worth keeping for personal use).
For pure profit from Flour, focus on Sweet and Sour Pork (438g), Black Forest Cake (434g), or Strawberry Mousse (374g). These high-value dishes multiply the value of your Wheat many times over.
Save 24 Wheat for Goldspike Blend and Suncloud Sip if you use scratch cards or want the Double Loot buff. These Juicer drinks require 12 raw Wheat each and cannot use Flour as a substitute.
Once you reach Senior Farmer and unlock the Grinder, start converting some of your Wheat harvest back into seeds to eliminate the 50g repurchase cost from the Happiness Seed Shop.
Sell excess Wheat to the Merchant Ship for double value (32g per unit instead of 16g). The Merchant Ship docks periodically and pays 200% of normal sell prices.
