Expanded with verified details: Engineer specialty mechanics, Tinkgear crafting (2 Iron Ingots = 1 Tinkgear), initial quest requirements (6 Concrete + 1 Iron Ingot), Mewtwo encounter connection
Tinkmaster is a unique variant of Tinkaton and one of the Special Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia. She is found in Sparkling Skylands, the game's fourth and final main area. Tinkmaster is the only Pokemon with the Engineer specialty, making her essential for late-game construction projects and the main quest to Rebuild the Huge Building.
Tinkmaster is visually distinct from a standard Tinkaton. Her hammer is an all-purpose engineering tool rather than the scrap-metal bludgeon that regular Tinkaton carries. She also sports a different hairstyle from the standard version. These design changes reflect her role as a master builder and engineer rather than a fighter.
Tinkmaster is found at the top of a tall tower on an island in Sparkling Skylands. Reaching her requires the Glide ability taught by Dragonite, which is also learned in Sparkling Skylands. After meeting Tinkmaster, she becomes a permanent resident of the area and assists with construction.
The Engineer specialty is unique to Tinkmaster and distinct from the standard Build specialty. While Build-specialty Pokemon (like Timburr, Gurdurr, and Cubone) can construct regular structures, Tinkmaster can:
Lead major building projects that are too large for regular Build Pokemon
Speed up normal construction when she is in the area, reducing build times
Convert Iron Ingots into Tinkgears (2 Iron Ingots per 1 Tinkgear), the key late-game crafting material
Captain the skyscraper reconstruction project in Sparkling Skylands
Tinkgears are a special crafting material produced exclusively by Tinkmaster. She converts 2 Iron Ingots into 1 Tinkgear. Tinkgears are required for late-game structures including the Lift platform and advanced building projects. To produce Iron Ingots, players need to mine Iron Ore and smelt it using a Smelting Furnace with a Burn specialty Pokemon.
When first meeting Tinkmaster, she requires 6 Concrete and 1 Iron Ingot to begin working. Delivering these materials unlocks the Lift platform recipe and starts Tinkgear production. From this point on, Tinkmaster becomes one of the most important NPCs for progression through the rest of the game.
Tinkmaster's primary role in the story is leading the reconstruction of the former Celadon Department Store, a massive skyscraper in Sparkling Skylands. The Rebuild the Huge Building quest involves constructing the building floor by floor under Tinkmaster's guidance. Completing all three floors and reaching the rooftop triggers an encounter with the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo and raises the player's Trainer Rank to Master.
