Team Initiation Challenge

The Team Initiation Challenge is an Important Request that spans the entire game and is required to beat the main story. It begins when the player first visits the beach area in Withered Wasteland (around the time they are looking for Slowpoke) and consists of eight stages, each requiring specific item deliveries. Completing all eight stages triggers the end credits, after which players enter the post-game.
Each stage requires delivering specific items or materials. Some stages cannot be completed until the player has unlocked certain areas or abilities.
Deliver 10 Leppa Berries. Leppa Berries are collected by headbutting Leppa trees found throughout Withered Wasteland. This stage is available early in the game and serves as an introduction to the challenge system.
Deliver Wheat. Wheat grows natively in Rocky Ridges, one of the areas unlocked after reaching Super Trainer Rank. Players need to use the Rototiller ability (taught by Drilbur) to prepare soil for planting, or harvest wild wheat found in the area.
Deliver 20 Lumber, 5 Fluff, and 10 Paper. Lumber is obtained by using Cut on trees or having Pokemon with the Chop specialty process small logs. Fluff drops from Pokemon with the Litter specialty (such as Mareep and Flaaffy). Paper can be crafted or obtained from Pokemon with the Recycle specialty.
Later stages require increasingly rare materials gathered from all four main areas. The final stages require materials from Sparkling Skylands, including Pokemetal and other late-game resources. Each stage must be completed in order. The materials needed for later stages scale in difficulty, encouraging players to fully explore and develop all four regions.
To complete the full Team Initiation Challenge, players need access to all four main areas, multiple Ditto transformations, and a variety of crafting materials. The challenge effectively serves as a tour of the game's core mechanics, ensuring players have engaged with farming, crafting, mining, and building before reaching the credits.
Completing the Team Initiation Challenge triggers the game's end credits.
After credits, the player enters the post-game, which unlocks the Magnet Rise transformation and other endgame content.
Access to additional Dream Island types and Legendary Pokemon encounters.
Start collecting Leppa Berries early by headbutting every Leppa tree you pass in Withered Wasteland.
Keep a stockpile of common materials like Lumber and Paper, as multiple stages require them.
Progress the main story quests in each area alongside the Team Initiation Challenge, as later stages require unlocking new regions.
Set up AFK material farms with Pokemon that have the Gather specialty near Community Boxes to passively collect materials.
