Overview

Mu Xiaokui is a key character in Phantom Blade Zero and a playable protagonist in Phantom Blade: Executioners. She is the daughter of the Order's founder and grew up alongside Soul and Zuo Shang. Despite her privileged position within the Order, Mu Xiaokui is a formidable warrior in her own right, known as the 'young master of the Organization.' She is always accompanied by two bodyguards. A precaution insisted upon by her protective father.

Background

As the daughter of the Order's founding Patriarch, Mu Xiaokui occupied a unique position within the organization. She was not simply a figurehead or a political asset but an active participant in the Order's operations. Her father ensured she received the same rigorous training as the Order's other operatives, and she proved more than capable of holding her own.

Her childhood friendship with Soul and Zuo Shang places her at the emotional center of the game's central conflict. The murder of her father, the framing of her childhood friend, and the betrayal by another create a triangle of loyalty, grief, and suspicion that drives much of the story's emotional weight.

Personality

Despite having a somewhat arrogant and conceited disposition on the surface, Mu Xiaokui is actually a lovely, smart, and energetic person. She is often seen being empathetic toward people in side quests and has a kind manner toward many NPCs. This contrast between her outward confidence and her underlying compassion makes her one of the more nuanced characters in the Phantom Blade universe.

Role in Phantom Blade Zero

After the Patriarch's assassination, Mu Xiaokui is caught between her duty to the Order and her personal bonds with Soul. She does not immediately accept the official version of events but cannot simply ignore the evidence presented against him. Her investigation into the truth runs parallel to Soul's own quest, and the two cross paths at several critical junctures.

S-GAME has described her as a character who makes decisions based on her own judgment rather than following orders blindly. She is willing to defy the Order's remaining leadership if she believes they are wrong, but she is also pragmatic enough to work within the system when it serves her goals.

Fighting styles

Mu Xiaokui is a playable protagonist in Phantom Blade: Executioners, where she demonstrates two distinct fighting styles:

• Iron Princess: an offensive style that summons Iron Husk, a gigantic being under Mu Xiaokui's control. Iron Princess's Overdrive summons Iron Husk from above, who crashes into the ground like a meteorite, dealing heavy damage in a wide area.

• Jade Dancer: a set of skills in a lilac purple color, composed mainly of slashing in multiple directions with varying range. Jade Dancer's Overdrive summons Jade Wraith, who delivers a set of heavy slashes above Mu Xiaokui.

Her fighting style is primarily offensive, relying on direct attacks and close combat. In Phantom Blade Zero, preview footage has shown her using a combination of blade techniques and acrobatic movement that differs from Soul's heavier combat approach.
