Comprehensive multiplayer guide
Multiplayer in Outbound allows up to four players to explore the open world together in online co-op. All players share the same camper van, combining their efforts to gather resources, build, craft, and explore as a team. The game also fully supports solo play for those who prefer a solitary experience.
The cornerstone of Outbound's co-op design is the shared camper van. All players inhabit and modify the same vehicle. When one player adds a workstation or decorates the interior, the changes appear in real time for everyone. One player drives while the others can move freely — managing workstations inside, tending the rooftop garden, or simply enjoying the view from the passenger seat.
Building Together — Multiple players can work on the van's layout simultaneously, coordinating interior design and exterior expansion
Resource Gathering — Players can split up on foot to cover more ground while the van remains parked, then regroup to deposit their hauls
Exploration — Discover landmarks and hidden areas as a group, or have one player scout ahead while others prepare the base
Mini-Games — Enjoy fishing, beekeeping, and other activities together
Co-op sessions are designed to be seamless. Friends can join and leave a host's game without interrupting progress. The world state, van configuration, and resource inventories persist with the host's save file.
Outbound supports Steam Cloud saves, Steam Achievements, and Steam Family Sharing. Progress earned in multiplayer sessions contributes to individual achievement tracking.
