Overview

Outbound supports a first-person driving perspective that was added during the alpha phase (v0.5.10-v0.5.12, April 2025). Players can choose to drive in first or third person, and the game remembers the selected mode between sessions. First-person provides a more immersive driving experience from inside the camper van's cabin, while third-person is recommended for spotting resources while driving.

Camera modes

The game primarily uses a third-person perspective for on-foot exploration. The first-person option is confirmed for driving mode. Dynamic weather changes and the day-night cycle are both visible while driving, with nighttime driving capability added in the beta build (v0.7.6).
