Overview
Server maintenance is a regular part of Neverness to Everness's live-service operation. Hotta Studio and Perfect World Games run scheduled maintenance windows for weekly content updates, version patches, and emergency fixes. During maintenance, the affected regional server is offline and players cannot log in, but maintenance is also when most balance changes, new content releases, and bug fixes go live.
Each of the four global regional servers (Asia, America, Europe, Southeast Asia) runs its own maintenance schedule on local-friendly hours. The Mainland China client operates on a separate schedule entirely. Maintenance compensation rewards (typically Annulith and Solid Dice) are mailed to all affected accounts after extended outages.
Types of Maintenance
Regular Weekly Maintenance
Weekly maintenance is the standard recurring window for routine updates:
Duration: typically 1 to 2 hours per region
Frequency: once per week per region
Content: daily/weekly reset, minor patches, balance tweaks
Schedule: scheduled during low-traffic hours for each region (early morning local time)
Notice: typically 24-48 hours of advance notice through the launcher and in-game banner
Weekly maintenance is the lifeblood of the live service: it resets daily commissions, refreshes City Stamina, rotates limited-time event content, and applies hot-fix patches between major version updates.
Major Version Updates
Version updates introduce significant new content and require longer maintenance windows:
Duration: longer windows; multiple hours announced in advance
Frequency: major version drops on a longer cadence (typically 6-week cycles for service games of this scale)
Content: new characters, new banners, new story chapters, new anomaly bosses, balance overhauls
Schedule: announced weeks in advance with countdown banners
Notice: at least one week of notice through the launcher, official social media, and in-game preview events
Players should expect their account to be inaccessible during major version maintenance and plan around it: completing in-progress events before the maintenance window starts, finishing daily commissions, and preparing for the new content that arrives after the server returns.
Emergency Maintenance
Emergency maintenance happens outside the regular schedule when a critical issue surfaces:
Duration: variable; depends on the severity of the issue
Frequency: rare in normal operation; more common during the launch window
Content: critical bug fixes, exploit patches, security incident responses
Schedule: announced as soon as the issue is confirmed
Notice: immediate; may include in-game banner and forced disconnect if necessary
Launch windows often see more emergency maintenance as the dev team responds to issues that surface only at high concurrent-player loads. After the first weeks of live service, emergency maintenance frequency drops significantly.
Maintenance Compensation
Hotta Studio mails compensation rewards to affected accounts after extended maintenance windows. Standard compensation patterns include:
Reward Type | Typical Amount |
|---|---|
100-300 per maintenance event, depending on length | |
1-3 per major maintenance window | |
Bulk amounts (5,000-30,000) for longer outages | |
Restoration of stamina lost during the outage |
Compensation is typically mailed within 24-48 hours of the server returning online. Players should check the in-game mailbox after each maintenance window for the rewards. Mail expiration varies; some reward letters last 7 days, others 30 days, so claiming the rewards promptly is recommended.
How to Track Maintenance
In-game banners: the most direct notification; announces upcoming maintenance from inside the game
The launcher: displays current server status and upcoming maintenance windows on PC
Official social media: the official Neverness to Everness channels post maintenance announcements with full schedules
Discord: the official Discord server posts maintenance notices in announcement channels
Patch notes: post-maintenance patch notes detail what changed; these are essential reading for tier-list-affecting balance changes
Regional Differences
Each regional server has its own maintenance schedule tied to local timezones:
Asia: typically early morning Asia time (Japan/Korea hours)
America: typically early morning Pacific time
Europe: typically early morning CEST time
Southeast Asia: typically early morning SGT time
Players who play across regions through alternate accounts will experience overlapping maintenance schedules. The Mainland China server runs a separate schedule entirely and is not synchronized with the global servers.
Tips
Plan around scheduled maintenance. Complete daily commissions and event quests before the window starts to avoid losing progress.
Read patch notes after every maintenance. Even minor updates often include balance tweaks that affect tier-list standings or gameplay loops.
Claim compensation mail promptly. Some mail letters expire within 7 days; leaving compensation unclaimed is wasted reward.
Don't panic during emergency maintenance. Server outages outside the regular schedule are usually fixes, not problems with the player's account.
Use maintenance windows for Mainland China content if you have a separate account there. The China server's schedule is independent, so global maintenance does not affect China access (and vice versa).
