Overview
Neverness to Everness uses a dual stamina system that separates combat progression from city life activities. Rather than funneling every action through a single energy pool, the game splits resource stamina into two independent currencies: Character Pixels and City Stamina. Each one fuels a different side of the game and regenerates on its own schedule. On top of these two progression-linked resources, a third movement stamina bar governs special traversal actions during exploration and traversal and combat. Understanding all three is essential for planning your daily and weekly gameplay in Hethereau.
Because Character Pixels and City Stamina are completely separate pools, spending one never reduces the other. You can burn through an entire day's worth of Character Pixels farming gear and still have your full weekly City Stamina budget available for side activities and mini-games. This design lets players engage with both combat content and city life without forcing a trade-off between the two.
Stamina Type Comparison
Stamina Type | Purpose | Reset Cycle | Refresh Method |
|---|---|---|---|
Character Pixels | Equipment farming, character progression activities, anomaly commissions | Recharges passively over time | Spend Lunaria (premium currency) for instant refills |
City Stamina | Life activities, mini-games, City Tycoon features | Full reset once per week | No premium refresh; weekly allotment only |
Movement Stamina | Climbing, swimming, jumping, dodging, dashing, aerial maneuvers | Regenerates in real time when idle | Automatic; stop performing stamina actions to recover |
Character Pixels
Character Pixels is the stamina resource tied to character leveling and equipment enhancement. Spending Character Pixels lets you run anomaly commissions, dungeons, and other combat-oriented activities that drop gear, upgrade materials, and progression resources for strengthening your Espers. Every piece of farmable content that makes your characters stronger draws from this pool.
Character Pixels recharge passively over time at a fixed rate throughout the day. The regeneration is continuous, so even short periods offline contribute to refilling the bar. Letting the bar sit at its cap wastes potential regeneration, so logging in regularly to spend accumulated pixels is the most efficient approach.
Lunaria Refresh
If you exhaust your Character Pixels and want to keep farming, you can spend Lunaria (the premium currency) to instantly refill the bar. This option exists for players who want to accelerate progression, particularly during time-limited events or special farming windows where the extra runs yield high-value rewards. Using Lunaria refreshes is not required for normal play, and free-to-play players can progress comfortably on natural regeneration alone.
City Stamina
City Stamina is the resource dedicated entirely to non-combat systems. It covers side activities and mini-games, life skill activities, and City Tycoon features across Hethereau. Unlike Character Pixels, City Stamina does not recharge continuously. Instead, you receive a full weekly allotment at the start of each reset period and spend it down as you participate in city life throughout the week.
Fons Rewards and Depletion
Many city activities award Fons (the city's in-game currency used for cosmetics and other purchases) when you have City Stamina remaining. Once your weekly City Stamina runs out, these activities stop granting Fons and other meaningful rewards. However, you are never locked out of the activities themselves. Fishing, racing, deliveries, mahjong, and every other city pastime remain fully playable even with zero City Stamina; you simply will not earn rewards from them until the next weekly reset.
This soft gating system means casual players can still enjoy city content at their own pace without feeling punished, while dedicated players who want to maximize Fons income should plan their heaviest activity sessions for early in the week to capture all available rewards before the pool empties.
Movement Stamina
Separate from both Character Pixels and City Stamina, a visible stamina bar on the HUD governs special character movements during exploration and combat. This bar depletes when you perform actions such as:
Mechanic | Description |
|---|---|
Climbing | vertical surfaces like walls and high-rise buildings |
Swimming | across bodies of water |
Jumping | and chaining mid-air jumps |
Dodging | and dashing during combat encounters |
Aerial maneuvers | and gravity-defying Esper traversal abilities |
Sprinting along flat ground does not consume movement stamina, so you can run across Hethereau freely without worrying about the bar. Driving vehicles is also exempt from movement stamina costs.
The movement bar regenerates quickly once you stop performing stamina-consuming actions. Brief pauses between bursts of climbing, swimming, or dashing are enough to keep the bar from fully depleting. Some Espers possess unique traversal abilities (such as anti-gravity building runs) that interact with this bar, so learning each character's movement profile helps you cover more distance before needing to rest.
Managing Stamina Efficiently
Since Character Pixels and City Stamina serve completely independent purposes, efficient management comes down to spending each one on the right activities at the right time.
Strategy | Description |
|---|---|
Spend Character Pixels daily | The bar recharges continuously, so letting it sit at the cap wastes regeneration. Log in and run your anomaly commissions or farming dungeons before the bar overflows. |
Front-load city activities | City Stamina resets once a week. Completing your highest-priority city tasks early in the week guarantees you collect all available Fons before the pool runs dry. |
Save Lunaria refreshes for events | Premium Character Pixel refills are most valuable during time-limited events or double-drop windows where extra runs yield significantly better rewards than normal farming. |
Play city content for fun after depletion | Even with zero City Stamina, all mini-games and activities remain accessible. If you enjoy fishing or racing for their own sake, go ahead; you just will not receive Fons until the weekly reset. |
Pace your movement stamina | During difficult platforming segments or extended combat, pause briefly between dashes and climbs to let the bar recover. Sprinting is always free, so use it to close gaps without spending movement stamina. |
