March 29, 2026 at 02:43 AM
Expanded with full confirmed roster tables for S-Class and A-Class, roles, and team building overview
Playable characters in Neverness to Everness are called Espers. Each Esper has a specific element, weapon type, faction affiliation, and combat role. The current roster includes both S-Class and A-Class characters, obtainable through the gacha system, story progression, or special events. This guide covers every confirmed playable Esper, their roles, and how to approach team building.
S-Class Espers are the highest rarity characters. They feature powerful kits with unique mechanics and serve as the core of most team compositions.

Three Espers are available without spending premium currency:
Esper Zero (M or F variant) is the protagonist and your starter character, available from the beginning of the game.
Haniel was distributed as a pre-registration reward for players who signed up before launch.
Chiz can be earned by reaching level 18 in the City Tycoon system, making him accessible to all players through gameplay progression.
Every Esper is aligned with one of five elements. Building teams with complementary elements lets you trigger elemental reactions for bonus damage and crowd control. The five elements are:
Cosmos : Spatial and dimensional energy.
Anima : Life force and primal power.
Incantation : Written and spoken magic.
Psyche : Mental and spiritual energy.
Lakshana : Shadow and mark-based power.
Chaos : Entropic and destructive energy.
Teams in Neverness to Everness consist of multiple Espers deployed together. The Esper Cycle System lets you swap between active characters mid-combat, so building a balanced roster matters more than any single pick. When assembling a team, consider these factors:
Elemental coverage: Bring at least two different elements to enable reactions.
Role balance: Pair a main DPS with a healer or shielder for sustain. Add a break specialist for tough encounters.
Faction synergy: Some characters gain bonuses when teamed with members of the same faction (Eibon, BAC, Sterry Express, Pink Paws Bank).
Swap timing: QTE abilities trigger during character swaps, so characters with strong QTEs add value even when off-field.
For detailed composition recommendations, see the Team Building Guide.
Focus on one main DPS character early. Spreading resources too thin slows your progression.
A-Class characters are not weaker by default. Fully awakened A-Class Espers can rival S-Class characters in specific roles.
Claim Chiz from City Tycoon level 18 as soon as possible. He fills the Cosmos DPS role well for free.
Check each character's life skills before investing. Some Espers provide valuable out-of-combat utility for cooking, exploration, or the wanted system.
