Insomniac Games publishes patch notes for Marvel's Wolverine on its own support pages, in a Game Updates section created on launch day, September 15, 2026, alongside FAQ and accessibility sections. This page tracks those notes, the known issues the studio has acknowledged, and what it has said it is working on. Version numbers are written here as 1.001.004 and 1.001.005; the studio's own titles zero-pad them as 01.001.004 and 01.001.005, and one note body writes v1.001.005, all referring to the same builds. Whether an earlier launch build carried a number of its own is not stated on any first-party surface, so nothing before 1.001.004 is listed.
Versions
Version | Date | What it changed |
|---|---|---|
1.001.004 | September 15, 2026 | Framed by the studio as addressing issues ahead of the global launch, including potential progression blockers and problems with English voice-overs. Fixed English voice-over not playing when the console language was set to anything other than English; before the fix, the studio's workaround was to set the console language to English. Fixed Jean Grey dropping off in a mission in Japan. Fixed Logan not sliding under a prison door in Telambang. |
1.001.005 | September 19, 2026 | Addressed common crashes experienced by a small percentage of players since launch. Adjusted the presentation of the Scent Trails and Audio Sense indicators, including reduced opacity to make those visuals less intense. The note adds that the team continues to evaluate ways to improve Senses, including exploring toggleable options for a future update. See Enhanced Senses. |
The launch update, which carries the accessibility items announced for it, is the one the studio footnoted as needing an internet connection and an account for PlayStation; the hotfixes are delivered the same way. Which features the launch update adds to disc copies is listed on Technical Features and Performance.
Known issues
Issue | Where | Workaround | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
Endless slide down a tree | The mission The One That Got Away, in the Canadian section of the campaign | Press the dodge button once Logan reaches the base of the tree to roll out of the animation | Acknowledged by the studio as a known issue, to be addressed in a future update. See Traversal and Missions |
Distorted restroom sign | An in-game sign whose icons appear garbled, which circulated on social media on September 18 | None needed; cosmetic | Called a UV map bug by the studio's community and marketing director, with a fix coming |
English voices not playing with a non-English console language | Any console whose system language was not English | Update to 1.001.004; before that, set the console language to English | Fixed in 1.001.004 |
The restroom sign drew a wider question about generative tools. Community and marketing director James Stevenson answered it directly, calling the sign a "UV map bug" with "a fix coming" and stating: "There are no AI-generated assets in Marvel's Wolverine."
What the studio has said since launch
On launch day Insomniac posted that it was "incredibly proud of what the team has created" and "actively engaged with our player community and gathering feedback to further refine the player experience". The day after launch it pointed players with support questions or technical issues to its support site, and on September 19 it announced the second hotfix with the note that the team continues to listen to player feedback.
A Senses toggle is the one change the studio has said it is exploring; as of September 21, 2026 nothing beyond the opacity reduction in 1.001.005 has shipped: the published options list carries colour controls for Senses but no way to switch the sense off.
Photo Mode was announced before release as arriving with the launch update rather than on the disc. As of September 21, 2026, neither patch note mentions it, and the studio's published options list still carries it as a launch-update item, so no first-party note confirms which update delivered it; this page will record it when one does. See Nightmare Cabin.
