Logan's Nightmare Cabin is the hub of Marvel's Wolverine, a dream version of Logan's home that sits behind the Nightmare Doors scattered through the campaign. Insomniac Games uses it as the home for the features available at launch, so everything outside the main story is reached from here.
What is inside
Feature | What it does | Available |
|---|---|---|
A second run with exclusive Techniques and raised Level Caps. | At launch | |
Mission Replay | Re-experience snippets of the story from a stage selector. | At launch |
Nightmare Challenges | Described in pre-launch material as slashing high scores; post-launch guides describe the cabin's shelf of medal-rated Nightmare Trials and no separate scored mode, so the two names may refer to the same trials. | At launch |
Photo Mode | Free camera capture, usable at any point during gameplay. | In the game; patched since September 25, 2026. Which update first delivered it has not been stated |
One post-launch guide reports a fifteenth Nightmare Trial with no door of its own, Best There Is, reached from a figurine on the cabin's shelf after the story, and that a Bronze rating in it opens a scent trail outside the cabin to a hidden memory tied to the Repressed Memories trophy; that account is single-source. The doors themselves are listed on the Nightmare Doors page.
New Game Plus
New Game Plus ships with the game rather than arriving in a later patch, which one launch-window round-up called a first for the studio. A second run carries your progression forward and opens Techniques and Adaptations that the first run does not have, along with a higher level cap; the studio's own gameplay guide specifies more Strands and four additional Adaptations. The systems those unlocks feed are covered on Progression and Upgrades and Combat.
Mission Replay
Mission Replay is selected from the cabin. The left side of the screen lists stages broken down by location and mission name; picking one shows a description of that level and a tracker for how many of its collectables you missed.
That tracker is the practical reason to come back. Nothing in the game is locked away permanently, so a missed crate or bottle can be picked up on a return visit. See Collectibles.
Post-launch guides confirm Mission Replay is available at launch and reached by interacting with the bed in the cabin, with collectibles carrying over between replays. The studio's own guide states that every level-specific trophy and collectible can be earned through it. One guide reports that the selector unlocks after the second Nightmare Door is found; that timing is single-source. The mission list is on Missions.
Nightmare Challenges
Insomniac's pre-launch material describes Nightmare Challenges as slashing high scores; post-launch guides describe only the medal-rated Nightmare Trials, so the two names may refer to the same thing. As of September 21, 2026 the scoring rules, the stage list, and the relationship between this mode and the timed trials behind individual doors have not been published on the product page, the studio's support pages or its official posts, and post-launch guides refer to the cabin's trial shelf only as Nightmare Trials.
Photo Mode
Photo Mode was the one cabin feature announced as not being on the disc. Insomniac and PlayStation said before release that it would arrive with the launch update, which needs an internet connection and an account for PlayStation, and that once installed it could be used at any point during gameplay. It is now confirmed in the game: Update 1.001.006 on September 25, 2026 fixed misaligned claws in Photo Mode, and Update 1.002.000 on October 1 fixed further Photo Mode issues. In early October the studio's support pages added that if some Photo Mode filters are not working, Fullscreen Effects should be turned on in the Visual settings, and that the studio is looking into the issue. It has not said which update first delivered Photo Mode, and its accessibility list still marks it as a launch-update item. See Updates and Patch Notes.
The tools shown ahead of launch cover camera precision and tilt, visibility toggles for Logan and for enemies, visual effects, light types, filters, and backgrounds. A shortcut for it also appears in the accessibility listing as an item added by the launch update for disc copies; see Accessibility Options.
