Update 1 Patch Notes
October 13, 2026 at 12:23 PM
Initial version (2026-10-13)
Update 1 is the first major content update for LumenTale: Memories of Trey. It released on September 29, 2026 on Steam and Nintendo Switch on the same day, together with a launch trailer on the game's official channel. The update was first planned for July 2026 and was held back so that both versions could get it at once; the developer later named a serious issue with the Japanese version on Nintendo Switch as the reason, and the update's notes list that crash as fixed. A hotfix followed on Steam on October 8, 2026 and changed some of the battle numbers again, so read the hotfix section first. For fixes from the earlier patches, see Known Issues, and for the wider timeline, see News and Game Info.
The hotfix reached Steam on October 8, 2026. Based on community feedback after Update 1 went live, the developer reverted the new damage modifiers on the standard settings and added a new difficulty for players who preferred the harder fights.
Change | Detail |
|---|---|
Easy and Normal damage | Reverted to the values used before Update 1 |
Easy and Normal TP gain | Reverted to the values used before Update 1 |
Advanced difficulty | New option that keeps the damage changes introduced in Update 1 |
Online battles | Use the Advanced difficulty values |
In practice, Easy and Normal now use the Before column of the damage table below, while Advanced and online battles use the Update 1 column. The hotfix notes do not say whether the level-difference penalty, the Agility change, or the other Update 1 battle rules still apply on Easy and Normal. As of October 13, 2026, a matching hotfix for the Nintendo Switch version had not been announced. See Difficulty Differences and How to Change for how the settings compare.
Update 1 reworked battle damage so that fights last longer and a single powerful attack decides less. All damage was halved, resisted attacks became less punishing, and critical hits were weakened, which leaves more room for buffs, items, TP, and switching.
Change | Before Update 1 | Update 1 |
|---|---|---|
Overall Damage | x1.0 | x0.5 |
Not Very Effective | x0.33 | x0.67 |
Super Effective | x1.5 | x1.5 |
No Effect / Neutral | x0 / x1.0 | Unchanged |
Critical Hit Damage | x1.8 | x1.3 |
Update 1 also added a damage penalty when an Animon attacks a non-boss enemy that is higher level than itself. The bigger the gap, the less damage the attack deals. Bosses are not affected.
Level Difference | Damage Multiplier |
|---|---|
2 Levels | x0.92 |
3 Levels | x0.82 |
5 Levels | x0.50 |
7+ Levels | x0.20 |
The notes do not list values for gaps of 1, 4, or 6 levels.
Change | Detail |
|---|---|
Accuracy and Evasion | Agility has less influence on accuracy and evasion, so each Agility stage matters less for hit chance |
Ally-Targeted Skills | Skills aimed at allied Animon, including healing and support skills, now always connect |
TP Cap | An attack can award at most 2 TP: 1 from a weakness hit and 1 from a critical hit. Hitting the weaknesses of two Animon with one attack gives only 1 TP |
Sereum Synchro | Used with an Animon trait, it can substitute for one of the two TP sources, so the attack earns at least 1 TP |
TP Fixes | TP is now awarded correctly after actions, the TP hit animation only plays when TP actually increases, and end-of-turn skills can cost 0 TP |
Area Skills | Fixed some area-of-effect skills hitting the same battler more than once |
Switching | Switching Animon now applies and removes the relevant effects correctly |
Skill Effects | Fixed several effect duration issues, improved targeting restrictions, and corrected form-change effects and battle states |
Healing Skills | Several healing skills received significant improvements |
The October 8 hotfix restored the earlier TP gain on Easy and Normal, so the TP rules above are described as Update 1 shipped them.
Boss SP bonuses now apply from Normal difficulty upward.
Bosses get 2 extra turns on Normal and above, and 1 extra turn on lower difficulties.
Fixed bosses sometimes failing to change forms correctly during battle, along with other boss battle and form issues.
Boss skills and boss levels were corrected in several situations.
See List of Bosses for the bosses these rules apply to.
Ace, the hardest of the launch difficulties, was made considerably tougher. You now deal 28% less damage, while the damage you take is the same as on Normal. Enemies can act first at the start of each round regardless of Speed, the enemy AI is significantly improved, healing is restricted (the update's preview clip labels this as no healing items), and EXP gains are cut. Bosses keep their increased SP and extra turns. The Anispace lock that Ace had at launch was removed, so you can use the Anispace without restrictions on Ace.
Rule | Before Update 1 | Update 1 |
|---|---|---|
Enemy Turn Priority | Based on speed | First 3 slots reserved for enemies in Lumen battles |
Player to Enemy Damage | x1.0 | x0.72 |
Enemy to Player Damage | x1.2 | x1.0 |
Battle EXP | x1.0 | x0.33 |
Defeat EXP | x1.0 | x0.25 |
EXP from Overworld Catches | Full | x0 |
EXP from Recycling Items | x1.0 | x0.1 |
Feature | What Changed |
|---|---|
Fountain Teleports | Fountains now act as teleport points, so you can travel quickly between Fountains you have already discovered. The notes headline this as craftable Fountain teleports without explaining the crafting step |
Fountain Autosave | The game saves automatically when you pass near a Fountain |
Hidden Type as a Holoken Power | An Animon's Hidden Type now counts as a valid Holoken Power |
Water Bubbles | The water bubbles used as a Holoken Power move faster |
Talea Map | Your current position is shown on the Talea map, and the map centres on you when opened, where possible |
Rare Animon | Rare Animon are encountered more often while exploring |
Capture Difficulty | A wild Animon at least 5 levels above the highest-level Animon in your party has a capture chance of 1 in 10,000. This applies only in battle |
Animon Scaling | Fixed level scaling issues, including cases where evolved Animon could not appear with higher-level Lumens |
Post-game progression and the activities available after the main story are now clearer | |
Furniture that trains Animon is clearly marked, a Quick Grab feature makes managing Animon and collecting items easier, online visits were streamlined, and several visit and interaction issues were fixed |
The Holoken Power you obtain in the final dungeon no longer needs a quick-time event to trigger interactions, and it now has its own tutorial. After you complete the game, it stays in your Holoken and triggers any elemental object, whatever that object's current element, without a quick-time event.
