Overview
The Appendix Q is a craftable item in LumenTale: Memories of Trey used to change an Animon's innate quirk. You can craft it at any rest spot once you have the right materials, and you do not need to learn the recipe first. Because its ingredients are rare, each Appendix Q is a significant investment, so use it on Animon you plan to keep.

How to Craft Appendix Q
Gather 2 Anivite EX, 10 Glass, and 1 Diamond.
Go to any rest spot.
Craft the Appendix Q, using Ales for a higher rate of success, since he is better at crafting gadgets than Trey and Nada.
Save before crafting to get a Great Success, which doubles the items crafted.
Appendix Q Can Be Crafted Even Without a Recipe
You do not need the recipe to craft an Appendix Q. As long as Ales is with you and you have the correct ingredients, he can craft it. Crafting it multiple times eventually lets you formally learn the recipe.
How to Get Materials for Appendix Q
Break Anivite Crystals
Anivite EX and Diamond both drop from Anivite Crystals, which you break in the wild with a Geo Animon. Both drops are significantly rarer than regular Anivite and common gemstones, so it can take a while to gather them. Prioritize large Anivite Crystals, since they have higher chances of dropping Anivite EX and Diamond. See How to Break Rocks for how to destroy crystals.
Buy the Rest
Anivite EX is also sold in Altipetra, in the shop near the exit to Area 13. Glass can be bought at any Lumen Club store, which double as fast travel points.
Appendix Q Uses
Changing an Animon's Quirk
Appendix Q changes an Animon's innate quirk. This is most useful for rare Animon that are hard to re-encounter and can carry one of several possible quirks: if you are not happy with the quirk your catch came with, an Appendix Q rerolls it without hunting for another one. Since the materials are rare, spend each one deliberately.
