Lords of the Fallen II is built around experimenting with countless builds. The developers have promised broader buildcraft than the first game, spanning melee, sorcery, and hybrid approaches.

Several weapon classes have been shown across the game's reveals. A new katana class was confirmed as one of the community's most requested additions, joining the scythe. Other weapons seen in action include swords, shields, flails, and crossbows.
