11Overview22Ambitions are lifelong goals that guide a Zoi's personal development in inZOI. Each ambition represents a dream or aspiration that the Zoi works toward over the course of their life, from accumulating wealth to mastering a creative discipline to becoming a notorious criminal. The system is comparable to aspirations in other life simulation games, but inZOI's implementation ties ambitions directly into the mentality system, traits, and urges, making them a core driver of daily behavior rather than a detached checklist.44At launch, inZOI shipped with 10 ambition categories containing 22 individual ambitions. The v0.5.0 update (December 2025) added three new categories: Lifehacker, Collecting and Crafting, and Business Flourishing, bringing the total to 13 categories with over 27 individual ambitions. The v0.7.0 update (March 2026) then introduced three additional ambitions tied to the food and drink crafting systems, raising the overall count to approximately 30 individual ambitions across the same 13 categories. Each ambition has three progression levels with escalating requirements. Completing an ambition's goals earns Meow currency at each stage, and finishing all three levels unlocks unique interactions exclusive to that ambition.66Availability and Assignment88Ambitions become available when a Zoi reaches the Young Adult life stage. If you spend most of your time decorating, Financial Success (Luxury Mansion) rewards that behavior. If your Zoi cooks a lot, Master Chef or Baking Master will progress naturally.Use Desired Lives as a starting point: The Desired Life system pre-selects an ambition that fits the archetype. Starting with this default gives your Zoi trait bonuses and urges that support the chosen ambition from the start.Consider skill overlap: Some ambitions share skill requirements with careers or other game systems. Buy these as soon as possible so you can start building progress immediately.Stack emotional bonuses: Several Level 2 and Level 3 tasks require performing actions while in a specific emotion (Curious, Amused, Sentimental, Focused). Instead, spread activities across regular play sessions and let the Zoi's urges guide some of the practice naturally.186186Common Pitfalls188188Walking Encyclopedia difficulty: This ambition requires reaching level 10 in five different skills, which is one of the most time-consuming tasks in the game. Start building diverse skills early if you plan to pursue this ambition. Note: there is a known bug where the Furniture Workbench does not always count toward crafting tasks; use alternative crafting stations if progress stalls.Partners in Love timing: The Level 3 task requires proposing while in the Aflutter or Dazzled emotion. Make sure your Zoi is in the right emotional state before initiating the proposal, or the task will not count.Nation's Sweetheart commitment: Building 5 True Love relationships simultaneously requires careful juggling of multiple romances. Be prepared for jealousy events and relationship drama.Social Disorder consequences: Getting arrested 5 times (required for both Notorious Villain and Famous Hacker) carries real in-game consequences, including career penalties and restricted city travel for trial-scheduled Zois.Ambition loss on city moves: Prior to v0.7.0, a bug could cause ambitions to be lost when moving between cities. This has been fixed, but players on older versions should be cautious.190190Switching and Stacking Ambitions192192Because progress is saved when switching ambitions, some players use a rotation strategy: work on one ambition until reaching a level where progress stalls (for example, waiting to accumulate 200,000 Meow for Wealth Level 3), then switch to a different ambition while passively progressing toward the stalled goal. When the conditions are met, switch back and complete the level. This approach lets players earn rewards from multiple ambitions over a single playthrough rather than committing exclusively to one.
