Clarified the comparison between the studio's figure and the current rating, and the link between player and critic complaints
Graveyard Keeper 2 was reviewed from 14 September 2026, eight days before its release, and players began rating it when it launched on 22 September. The morning after launch it held a Very Positive user rating on the PC storefront; by 13 October 2026, with about 9,800 player reviews in all languages, the rating had settled at Mostly Positive. Critic aggregates sat in the low 70s on one aggregator and in the low 80s on another. Two days after launch the studio reported over 400,000 copies sold across all platforms. The figures on this page are dated snapshots and will move as more reviews arrive.
Storefront | 23 September 2026 | 13 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
PC (Steam), all languages | Very Positive, 712 of 781 reviews positive (91 percent) | Mostly Positive, 7,393 of 9,801 reviews positive (75 percent) |
PC (Steam), English-language reviews only | Very Positive, 91 percent of 300 reviews | Mostly Positive, 77 percent of 3,779 reviews |
PlayStation Store | About 4.3 out of 5 from 356 ratings | About 4.0 out of 5 from 1,190 ratings |
Xbox store | 4.2 out of 5 from 12 ratings | 3.9 out of 5 from 81 ratings |
PC (GOG) | Not yet rated | 4 out of 5 |
The studio's own figure on 24 September 2026 was 84 percent positive on the PC storefront. Over the following three weeks the all-language share settled at 75 percent, which the storefront labels Mostly Positive.
On 23 September 2026 most PlayStation Store ratings were at either end of the scale: 74 percent gave five stars and 12 percent gave one.
Two review aggregators had collected critic scores by 23 September 2026. One listed a score of 73 from eight reviews, four positive, three mixed and one negative, which it files as mixed or average. The other showed an average of 83 from 17 reviews, with 76 percent of critics recommending the game. Before launch, the first seven scored reviews collected by 21 September had clustered around seven out of ten, split three positive, three mixed and one negative.
By 13 October 2026 the first aggregator listed 72 from nine critic reviews, still filed as mixed or average, and the second showed 81 from 29 reviews, with 79 percent of critics recommending the game.
On 24 September 2026, two days after release, the studio announced that over 400,000 copies of the game had been sold across all available platforms. The figure counts copies sold, not wishlists or demo downloads, and no later total had been published by 13 October 2026.

Praised | Criticised |
|---|---|
The story and the voice acting | The grind |
The rebuilt 3D world | Micromanagement |
The tower-defence and automation additions | Multi-step crafting chains that some reviewers found deliberately tedious |
The lowest pre-release verdict called the grind unoptimised. The developer had said before launch that there would be less grinding than in the first game, softened by a new talent system; see Technology Tree.
After launch, players raised the same grind complaints the reviews had. On 2 October 2026 the studio said it had received many comments calling some mechanics challenging or grindy and boring, and that some tasks had become chores it did not want in the game. It answered with balance changes in update 1.008, which raised the likes earned from deliveries and vendor trades and cut delivery requirements, and with a list of planned changes, among them more gears from zombies, more Faith from sermons, movable workstations and zombie workers that restart crafts on their own. The list, and what has shipped since, is on Known Issues and Patch Notes.
