Removed redundant H1 heading from article body
Gothic 1 Remake is being localised with full voice acting across four major languages: English, German, Polish, and Russian. THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive ran a public "Voices Across the Colony" behind-the-scenes series in November 2025 to document the work, and Alkimia has been explicit about not treating any single language as the only "native" version; all four localisations are getting the same production attention.
The English-language recording is handled by PitStop Productions, directed by Beth Park and Daniel Bainbridge.

Beyond the four full-VO languages, Gothic 1 Remake ships with text localisation (subtitles and UI) in Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, Italian, and Chinese.
Alkimia has stated that the English recording was rewritten from scratch rather than translated from German, so the dialogue sounds natively English rather than dubbed. German director Tim Henneman has described the approach as creative expansion rather than direct translation, aiming to preserve Gothic's harsh, grounded tone across every language. Adam Diggle (English cast) summarised the intent during the Voices Across the Colony series with "That unpredictability is part of what made me fall in love with Gothic all over again."
