Lares is the leader of the Rogues, the New Camp's courier and intelligence caste. He is a founding member of the camp alongside Lee and Saturas.
Lares runs the part of the New Camp that moves things around. Rogues under his command serve as the Water Mages' couriers, smugglers, and scouts, and they handle the information flow between the camp and the outside world. Where Lee's Mercenaries handle direct security, Lares's Rogues handle everything softer than open force.

Courier the ore. Move ingots from the New Camp's mining operations to the Water Mages without going through the Old Camp's controlled exchange.
Scout the roads. Watch traffic between camps and report on what Gomez's side is doing to threaten the New Camp.
Run information. Lares's network keeps tabs on Old Camp and Swamp Camp politics without needing to send Mercenaries into hostile territory.
Handle softer work. Anything pickpocketing, stealth, or persuasion can resolve. Rogues are the right tool for tasks Mercenary force would only escalate.
Lares is one of the first New Camp figures the Nameless Hero meets when pursuing the New Camp path. He functions as an initial gatekeeper to the camp's inner politics, and his trust is needed to progress toward the Water Circle proper. Heroes who deliver clean work for the Rogues find Lares a much shorter conversation when they come back asking for an introduction to Saturas. A Hero who skips that step and tries to reach Saturas directly is sent back to do the Rogue work first.
Lares's Russian voice has been confirmed as Sergey Gabriyelyan Jr. via the November 2025 Voices Across the Colony behind-the-scenes series. English, German, and Polish voice assignments for the character have not yet been made public. See Voice Cast and Localization.
