Focus Stones

Focus stones are ancient artifacts scattered across the Valley of Mines. They are the driving object of the middle part of the campaign, and both the Brotherhood and the Water Mages are actively hunting for them.

Purpose

The stones are tied to the seal that holds the Sleeper in its tomb. Gathering them is either a path to the Sleeper's imprisonment or, if the Brotherhood is to be believed, to its final awakening and the collapse of the Barrier.

The Artifact Hunt

Chapters 2 and 3 are built around the search for the focus stones. The Gurus of the Swamp Camp and, later, the mages and Xardas send the Nameless Hero into old mines, ruins, and monster-held ground to recover the stones one at a time.
