Flames to the Flood begins after the four Focus Stone expeditions. Saturas asks the Hero to seek the Fire Mages' help with the Water Mages' plan. Finish Old Camp business and training before this mission, because its events change access to the camp.

Reach the Fire Mages

Travel to the Old Camp and exhaust Thorus's dialogue at the gate. Speak to Corristo in front of the Fire Mages' temple about Saturas's request. After he tells the Hero to leave, speak to Milten and follow him along the castle wall.

The ensuing cutscene shows Gomez's attack on the Fire Mages. Continue following Milten to the ruined house and escape. Return to Saturas and report what happened. That report completes Chapter 3, begins Chapter 4, and awards 1,000 XP.

Returning to the Old Camp

Bloodwyn at the south gate and Fletcher at the north gate each demand 100 ore nuggets for access to the outer ring. The payments are separate. Refusing and defeating a guard without killing him offers another way through. Killing them makes the camp's Warders hostile.

The castle remains restricted. Dexter and Fisk stop trading with the Hero, while friendly Shadows outside the camp continue offering services. Snaf still provides the daily Meatbug Ragout reward.

Faction options after exile

An exiled Old Camp member can pursue the Mercenary route. A former Fire Mage can continue toward the Water Mages after becoming a Mercenary. Confirm the exile with Thorus, ask Saturas about joining, and speak to Lee to begin A New Allegiance.
