Added the chainsaw pint glass partnership merchandise and the Los Angeles launch event
Physical products released alongside Gears of War: E-Day cover two controllers, a charging dock, a guitar collaboration and an annual charity apparel line. The game’s own packaged product, the Collector’s Edition, is covered separately.
Announced on August 12, 2026 and available to pre-order the same day from participating retailers worldwide, priced at $89.99. The design is built around the emergence holes that scar the world of the game.
Element | Detail |
|---|---|
Body | 3D moulded, laser-etched cracked asphalt with red glowing cracks, exposing the Crimson Omen beneath the surface |
Buttons | Blacked-out ABXY buttons with a transparent red X button |
Triggers and D-pad | Matching red triggers and a transparent D-pad |
Battery door | A dark silver metallic COG tag |
Grips | Textured |
Described from the hardware side, the shell is transparent with the Omen sitting inside it, the emergence hole is etched so that it breaks out of a concrete texture, and the back carries rubberised textures that change how the controller feels in the hand. The team has also said it hid small details in the design without saying what they are.
From September 30, 2026 players can build their own version through the custom controller design service, using exclusive artwork from illustrator Luke Preece. The centrepiece is a top case showing a skull perched on crossed Lancers, surrounded by more skulls and battle-worn detail. Upgrades include metallic triggers and D-pads, rubberised side and back grips and a personalised engraving. Studio creative director Matt Searcy has said Preece has worked with the studio since its previous mainline game, and Preece had established this game's visual language with the studio brand director before the work began. His other credits are on Cast and Crew.
An officially licensed charging dock accompanies the controller. It is compatible with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One wireless controllers, includes a rechargeable battery pack, and offers magnetic alignment, drop-and-charge operation and protection against overcharging and overheating.
Announced on August 19, 2026, the collaboration produced two custom guitar designs based on the Les Paul and SG. The connection is the score itself: guitar-driven music has defined the series for nearly two decades, and composer Adam Lastiwka used Gibson guitars in recording the soundtrack. Each guitar started as a hand-drawn concept, then was digitally mapped, stencilled and hand-painted by Luke Preece. Distressing the instruments so they would look battle-worn was considered early and dropped, leaving the artwork to carry the weight.
Design | Instrument | Theme | Artwork |
|---|---|---|---|
Les Paul | Brutality | A weathered skull against a COG tag backdrop, framed by chainsaw blades, with Locust blood and fractured textures. The circular saw-blade motif was chosen because the guitar hardware interrupted the earlier concepts. | |
SG | Pathos | A tearful, battle-worn skull against a COG tag, surrounded by barbed wire and crimson poppies. Wings follow the shape of the instrument. |
Brutality and Pathos are two of the emotional core pillars the studio uses to describe the game, which is also how it framed the series when choosing to make a prequel. See Development History.
Only four guitars were made. Each is numbered and signed, and because they were painted by hand even repeated designs are not exact copies. A sweepstakes opened on August 19, 2026 offering three of them, two Les Pauls and one SG, to entrants in supported regions, with winners drawn at random and announced on October 16, 2026.
Never Fight Alone is the studio’s suicide prevention campaign, and its fifth year opened on September 10, 2026, World Suicide Prevention Day. The studio donates one percent of net revenue from its products to its crisis-line partner, which the campaign states has supported over 16,000 crisis conversations to date. The partner expanded during the year by joining forces with an organisation serving Spanish-speaking communities across twenty countries.

Both controllers and the guitar collection were scheduled for their first public display at a games trade show in Cologne, where the campaign also made its playable debut.
A public launch event is scheduled in Los Angeles on September 30, 2026, from 3pm to 10pm at Hollywood and Vine, built around an Emergence Hole and a Corpser statue. The first 500 attendees can play the game ahead of early access, entry is limited to those 18 and over, and the prizes include a custom controller inspired by the game and designed by Luke Preece.
A limited edition chainsaw pint glass went on sale on September 25, 2026 for $25 as part of the Liquid Death partnership. The same partnership carries the Chainsaw Flex in-game pack described on Cosmetics and Currencies.
