Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel from The Coalition set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, following Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago through Emergence Day as the Locust Horde first erupts from below. The campaign narrows a planet-wide catastrophe to one city, Kalona, over three days. It is built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5 and ships alongside Horde Siege, a reimagining of the series' PvE mode, and a refined Versus PvP mode. It launches October 6, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with day-one Game Pass availability and up to five days of early access for premium editions.
