Music
Adam Lastiwka composed the score and produced the instrumental reworking of the song used in the original game's advertising, re-licensed for the 2024 announce trailer. He recorded the soundtrack using Gibson guitars, which is the stated reason the guitar collaboration exists at all. A special instrumental version of a Metallica track is one of four menu music options at launch, listed on Cosmetics and Currencies.
The main theme is titled Emergence. It was published on its own as an official video in June 2026, ahead of release, and is credited to Adam Lastiwka. The surname is spelled Lastiwka in official written announcements; a Lastwika spelling that turns up in one official video description is a transposition of the same name.
Lastiwka also adapted Barber's Adagio for Strings for Adagio, the launch film published on September 12, 2026.
The Gears of War: E-Day Original Soundtrack by Adam Lastiwka releases on October 6, 2026. Its first track, Emergence, was released for streaming on October 1. The launch gameplay trailer published the same day is set to For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica, the band behind the Ride the Lightning weapon skin set and an instrumental menu track covered on Cosmetics and Currencies.
