Pale Raven's Perch
September 23, 2026 at 07:16 AM
Confirmed the weekly Pale Raven feeding, global Notable Deeds and toggleable Boons of Salvation from the finished game; described how the Perch leads into the Obelisk Chamber; confirmed the Prologue replay
The Pale Raven's Perch is a spot in Dagsion where, in Nintendo's words, a mysterious white bird rests its wings. It is where the player swaps to a different Hero, which turns a small corner of the capital into the hinge the whole route structure depends on.
Progress is saved for each of the four Heroes, so playing through all four of their stories in parallel is an option rather than a chore of finishing one before starting the next. You visit the Perch, pick a different Hero, and that save resumes where you left it. Previews report that the swap can be made at almost any time while you are back in the capital, the one exception being the middle of a main story battle. Routes covers how the four campaigns relate to each other.
The white bird is Eshmel, the story's true protagonist, in transformed shape; the title Herald of the Pale Raven comes from the same form. Characters can talk with the bird at the Perch in a short conversation scene, reported as being available once a week.
Beneath the temple of Fortuna lies the Obelisk Chamber, a hidden space she prepared at the progenitor god's request in case disaster ever came to the land. It holds four obelisks, one tied to each Hero: the Fox Obelisk for Cai, the Lion Obelisk for Dietrich, the Wolf Obelisk for Theodora and the Eagle Obelisk for Leda. Touching one carries you back five years and hands control from Eshmel to that Hero. Each obelisk also carries the premise text for its Hero's route.
A guide to the finished game describes the connection: talking to the Pale Raven in Dagsion offers entry to the Obelisk Chamber, available once a route reaches Chapter 4, and the chamber is where every path in every Part is entered. On that reading the Perch is the doorway in the past and the chamber is the hub beyond it.
One hands-on account also described a Descend Again option in the Chamber, and walkthroughs of the finished game confirm the function: the Prologue can be replayed at any time to change the difficulty, the Casual or Classic setting or Eshmel's appearance, without losing progress on the four routes.
Previews describe several smaller systems anchored at the Perch. Guides to the finished game have since confirmed the feeding, Notable Deeds and Boons of Salvation systems; the Foresight tool still rests on a single preview account.
A feeding mini-game played as the bird, in which you can only answer with bird-like actions. Feeding the Pale Raven is a weekly action that costs no turn, and it raises any character's support with Eshmel, with the effect applying in Part 3.
A Notable Deeds log that awards karma shards for achievements. Deeds are tracked across the whole save file and can be checked at the Perch at any time.
A Boons of Salvation menu that spends those shards on experience and proficiency bonuses that apply across the whole save file and can be switched on or off. Shards left over once every Boon is unlocked go to Merge Causality in Part 3.
A Foresight tool that previews the shape of the next main campaign battle, so you can buy the right weapons or train the right units first.
The route-select menu itself shows a short summary, a title and a list of strengths for each Hero, which makes the Perch the closest thing the game has to a campaign selection screen.
For the four campaigns the swap moves between, see Routes. The white bird is Eshmel in transformed shape, and the Obelisk Chamber sits beneath the temple of Fortuna.
