Dagdan Calendar
August 20, 2026 at 03:17 AM
Created page with the in-world dating system, the two story years and an explicit note against timeline speculation
The Dagdan Calendar is the dating system used on the continent of Dagda, and every date given in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is a date in it. Its months run 30 days. The story is anchored to two years: 1449, when the Heroic Games are held, and 1454, five years later, when the continent faces its end.
Dates are visible during play rather than confined to cutscenes. Time passes every time the player moves on the world map, quests carry deadlines, arena training comes round once a week, and inns let time pass on purpose, so the current date is something the player watches. Deadlines are given as a day within a numbered month, and matches sit on the calendar as fixed dates to prepare for. See Between-Match Preparation and World Map and Exploration.
This is an in-world dating system, not a named gameplay mechanic. There is no monthly activity-point system in this game; the calendar simply tells the player what day it is while time runs.
Dagdan year | Event |
|---|---|
1232 | The Mons Uprising in the Kingdom of Brezarant, restaged as a Heroic Games match roughly two centuries later. |
1449 | The Heroic Games are held in Dagsion. The four Heroes compete, and the four route campaigns take place here. |
1454 | Five years on. Balor has revived, Dagda faces its end and the four Heroes have vanished. This is where the game opens. |
The Dagdan Calendar is local to Dagda. It does not map onto any other continent's dating system, no conversion between them has ever been published, and the numbers cannot be read across. A year like 1449 is meaningful only against other Dagdan dates.
Nothing published so far places this game before or after any other title, and no figure claiming a gap between them comes from Nintendo. This wiki does not assert a position, and any such claim should be treated as speculation drawn from a calendar that was never designed to line up with another one.
Month names, how many months make a year, and what the calendar counts from have not been published. The Dagdan Empire is described as having prospered for about 1,500 years, but no founding year is stated, and one in-game line has been read as putting the founding fourteen centuries back rather than fifteen. Until more is published, treat the empire's age as approximate and the calendar's structure beyond the 30-day month as unconfirmed.
