Renamed the bonus phase to Extra Phase, the official English name for the window
Tronn is a story-side Vision in Final Fantasy Resonance and one of nine story-side Visions named as of 12 September 2026. His official bio describes a black mage who once fought to protect allies in a war that took place in another world. He commands fire, ice, and lightning magic and learns many abilities well-suited to staggering enemies.
Like all Visions, Tronn is an item rather than a party member: equipping his crystal grants his magic to whoever carries it. He is built for stagger work. His three attack elements cover a wide band of enemy weaknesses, and hits against a weakness shave the Stagger Gauge faster than neutral hits. On top of the element spread, his bio states outright that many of his abilities suit staggering; the loop from staggered enemies to bonus-phase actions is covered at Stagger System.
In preview builds he cast Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder, the classic black mage attack trio, plus Blind. Affinity with his Vision grows through battles, unlocking further abilities and skills for the wearer.
Abilities learned from him stay equippable while another Vision is active, within the cost limit described at Abilities and Mastery. His kit, like every Vision's, was designed from zero for this game.
His bio mirrors that of Leah, a white mage who shares the same another-world war framing, so the two of them read as a matched pair. The rest of the named story-side roster runs to Charlotte, a Defender; Aileen, the weaponsmith named in July 2026; and five more revealed in August 2026: Amelia, a maid in service to the crown prince of the Zoldaad Empire, who fights with fire-aspected guns; Camille, a mercenary monster hunter working in water and earth; Wilhelm, an imperial general who draws every enemy's enmity at the start of battle; Victoria, a black mage dealing in dark magic and status ailments; and Ayaka, a dedicated healer.
Story-side Visions come from completing events involving characters met through the story, from side quests, and from deepening bonds, with some earned through battles. Tronn's specific unlock conditions had not been detailed as of 12 September 2026. Like every Vision, he is earnable in-game with no DLC.
Each Vision powers a unique Resonance attack, unleashed at the end of the Extra Phase after a sweeping stagger and limited to one use per sweeping stagger. As of 12 September 2026, Tronn's specific Resonance has not been individually detailed. For the full roster of named Visions, see List of Visions.
