Gilgamesh is a mysterious bladesman the party runs into during the adventure in Final Fantasy Resonance. Since announcement the official feature list has carried him as a wandering swordmaster found out in the world, and Square Enix detailed the encounters on August 24, 2026. They build to a final battle on a distinctly big bridge.
How the Encounters Work
Gilgamesh turns up over the course of the adventure rather than in one fixed fight, and those meetings lead to the closing battle. Square Enix advises being well prepared and says this Final Fantasy mainstay will test the player's resolve in more ways than one. The whole sequence is optional: Square Enix lists it among the completionist elements rather than on the required path through the main story.

Not Yet Detailed
Square Enix has not published how many times Gilgamesh appears, where in the world the bridge sits, what triggers each encounter, what defeating him awards, or what party strength the final battle expects. He has not been named among the game's Visions; the roster named so far is tracked at List of Visions. For the rest of the optional layer, see Side Content and Endgame.
