The Almighty
September 15, 2026 at 08:23 AM
Initial version (2026-09-15)
The Almighty (神王) is the absolute ruler of Urvis Ael, the chalk-white city that floats in the sky in Eternal Anima. He is introduced under the epithet 千年を生きる支配者, the thousand-year ruler, and his published profile makes him both the architect of the city's unchanging peace and the author of the law that makes progress a crime. His is one of only four names in the cast that exists in confirmed official English.
The Japanese and Traditional Chinese materials both write him as 神王, which reads literally as god-king. The English synopsis published by Marvelous calls him the Almighty, and the official site uses "the-almighty" as his URL slug, so the English form is confirmed rather than inferred. That confirmation matters here because most of the cast has no confirmed English name at all: see Characters for which spellings are official and which are only site slugs. No official material gives him a personal name separate from the title.

The profile describes him as the absolute king who governs Urvis Ael, possessed of rare charisma and intellect, and worshipped by his people. The city he governs is isolated from the outside world, and its founding principle is that living days without change is right. Any word or deed leading to evolution or development is treated as a serious crime there, and the English synopsis renders the same idea as a single unbreakable law against progress of any kind. The order is kept by Revision, the peacekeeping organisation whose ranks include the protagonist.
His stated position on progress is that it is folly that breeds tragedy, and on that basis he forbids it, holding the city in an eternally unchanging today. Official copy gives the reasoning as his, without endorsing or refuting it, and without saying what tragedy he has in mind.
Two claims in the profile carry unusual weight for a pre-release character page. The first is that he has lived one thousand years. The second is that he is one of the very few who know of the lost continents and their history. Official copy states both flatly and explains neither. It does not say how he has lived that long, whether he is human, or what he knows about the continents that sank.
The second point ties him directly to the premise of the game, in which the protagonist travels the past and the present of four lost continents to uncover a lost history. It also puts a private knowledge of that history inside the city whose law forbids looking for it. Nothing published states what he does with that knowledge, and nothing published connects him to any named continent; the only continent named anywhere in official copy belongs to a different character's profile and is discussed in World and Setting.
Three published profiles position themselves against or around him. Vallis, captain of Revision's South District, holds a near-fanatical devotion to him and prizes the city's order above all else. Neria, a warrior who escaped the city, carries a fierce hatred of him and of Revision. Wade, the protagonist and one of Revision's aces, comes to doubt the false paradise the Almighty built once his own ability awakens, and is branded a heretic for questioning the city's tenet.
He appears in the merchandise lineup as well as in the story copy: a 32 mm badge depicting him is among the Japanese retailer pre-order bonuses published on 10 September 2026, alongside a national crest badge set and other items covered in Editions and Pricing. As with every revealed character, the official site hosts an individual character video for him.
As of 15 September 2026 nothing is published about his origins, whether he is human, how he has survived a thousand years, what the city looked like before him, or what role he plays in the later story. No English voice cast has been announced for anyone in the game, including him. He is not stated to be a boss, an antagonist or a party member, and none of those should be assumed from the profile alone.
