Initial version (2026-09-15)
M.O.S. is a mechanical doll in Eternal Anima, introduced under the epithet 魔導時代のオートマタ, automaton of the magic age, and filed with the cast of Port Azurea. Its profile is one of the shortest in the revealed roster, but it carries a fact that no other profile does: it is the only place in all official copy where a continent is named.

M.O.S. is written the same way on every official surface, in Latin letters with periods, in the Japanese and Traditional Chinese materials as well as the English ones. The spelling is also confirmed by a character art card visible in official product photography, making it one of only four confirmed English names in the cast, alongside Wade, Neria and The Almighty. No official material expands the initials or explains what they stand for, and no expansion should be guessed at.
The profile states that M.O.S. was built long ago on the Rotala Continent (ロタラ大陸), a land that flourished on magical energy (魔導). The English form Rotala is our transliteration of the katakana; no official English rendering of the name has been published, because the English site is still a where to buy teaser with no world or character section.
This single sentence is doing a great deal of work in the published setting. It is the only named continent anywhere in official copy for this game. The story materials separately speak of four lost continents, and the official world navigation separately shows five region slots of which three are revealed, but no official text maps those lists onto one another and no official text says whether Rotala is one of the four. It is called a continent and nothing more. World and Setting sets out the full shape of that problem.
The profile also establishes an age of magical energy as something the setting had and appears to have lost, since the automaton built in it had to be recovered from the seabed. Official copy does not date that age, connect it to the sinking of the continents, or link it to Anima, the source of all things read by the protagonist's ability in Psychometry and Anima.
After ages on the seabed M.O.S. was salvaged and rebooted. That places its recovery squarely inside the working life of Port Azurea, whose residents live off flotsam and relics hauled up from the sea floor of The Forbidden Sea. Two other residents are described in the same terms: Florus is a salvager, and Marsh is a blacksmith who re-forges relics raised from the sea into anything from weapons to household goods. Official copy does not name who salvaged M.O.S., when, or who restarted it.
As of 15 September 2026 nothing is published about what M.O.S. can do, how it fights, whether it joins the party, how much it remembers of the era it was built in, or whether its memories can be read the way objects are read elsewhere in the game. No era label is attached to the Port Azurea group, so its era is unstated. No English voice cast has been announced for anyone in the game. Its individual character video exists on the official site and adds no profile text. See Characters for the rest of the roster.
