Drakantos is a free-to-play pixel-art MMORPG set in the fantasy world of Eldras, a world brought to life through cutscenes. It is developed and self-published by Wingeon Game Studios, a Brazilian indie studio based in Curitiba. The game pairs a nostalgic top-down pixel art look with fast-paced, 100% action combat and a roster of 21 playable Heroes, each a swappable class with its own abilities, personality, and story. The studio describes Drakantos as a cooperative online adventure that blends an open world with a dungeon-crawler structure, while a dedicated competitive layer plays like a "Mini MOBA" inside the MMO.
Players share a single world with everyone on their server. They explore, complete quests, gather resources, hunt collectibles, and take on rotating missions from the Adventurer's Guild. The game is available on PC for Windows and Linux, is free-to-play, and does not yet have an announced release date. Two closed beta tests have been held so far, the most recent in May 2026.

What Drakantos Is
Drakantos breaks away from the traditional class system of most MMORPGs. Instead of building a single character, you unlock all 21 heroes on one account and swap between them freely, treating each hero as a class with its own kit, lore, and role. Of the 21, 20 are named and one remains unrevealed. Level and gear do not carry between heroes, but account-wide progression such as artifacts, trophies, and cosmetics is shared across your whole roster.
Movement is fully free in 360 degrees rather than locked to a grid, and combat is entirely action-based with no target lock: a left click is your basic attack and a right click is your special, with hold-to-charge variants. Detailed mechanics live on the Gameplay page.

Setting
The game takes place in the world of Eldras, told through cutscenes. Its kingdoms and domains include the Human Empire (capital Kasteron), the Dwarven Kingdom (Garmorli), the Elven Kingdom (Ereluna), and a demonic Hell domain. Devlogs also reference the lands of Derid, which the Adventurer's Guild serves and which is likely a continent or region within Eldras, though the exact relationship is not stated. New players each begin with a unique prologue before arriving in the shared starting village of Fairdale. More detail is on the Setting and World and Cities and Locations pages.
Inspirations
Wingeon cites classic action-RPG and life-sim titles among its inspirations, alongside a Middle-earth-style fantasy theme featuring dwarves, dragons, and elves. The competitive layer draws on hero shooters and team brawlers for its "Mini MOBA" design.
Development and Reception
Drakantos is built by a small Brazilian studio that has shared its progress through regular devlogs. The game passed 100,000 Steam wishlists in late 2023 and reached half a million wishlists by May 2026. Across its testing phases the team has reworked movement and combat, expanded the hero roster, and introduced the competitive PvP layer. The full Closed Beta History covers each test in detail.
