Regions and Locations

Dimraeth is played across a set of named, handcrafted areas rather than a procedurally generated map. This page indexes every region, zone and landmark the developers have named. Two of them, the expanded Wildwood Forest and the Goblin Caves, arrive with the Early Access build on 15 September 2026; the rest were built and reported over the preceding three years.
Each region is due a major boss at Early Access. The developers list new world bosses as "Major bosses for each region" among the Early Access additions, which is a per-region promise rather than a published boss list. As of 2026-09-12 the only boss named anywhere first-party is the Corrupted Treant.

Area | Type | Status |
|---|---|---|

Earlwood Forest East, South and West | Forest zones | Three zones added November 2024, updated and expanded December 2024 |
Wildwood Forest | Forest region | Concepting began February 2025, expanded June 2025, expanded again for Early Access |
Corrupted Forest | Corrupted region | Added June 2025 with its own music |
Goblin Caves | Cave region | New at Early Access |

The farmlands | Farming area | Featured in the demo; farming assets worked on from June 2024 |

The islands | Offshore areas | Added September 2023, reached by hot air balloon |

Earlwood Village is the starting settlement and the hub of the first act, and it has its own page. Around it sit three forest zones, Earlwood Forest East, South and West, added in November 2024 and expanded the following month. These are the immediate wilds outside the village walls and the first place the player goes hunting, harvesting and questing.
The Earlwood Peninsula is the coastal landform the village occupies. Its cliffs and rock formations were designed against three real-world coastal references, which are covered in detail on the village page.
The Wildwood is the largest wilderness area named so far, and it is not an ordinary forest. It is not ruled by the elves and not claimed by Aldoria. The developers describe it as a fractured land of many small kingdoms, each ruled by a Forest King: ancient spirits of nature, whether Dryads, Treants, or stranger powers still. Divided as they are, all of them are bound by the will of Ceres, the nature god. See Mirkea for the wider setting.
In development terms, Wildwood concepting began in February 2025, the area was expanded in April and again in June 2025 with harvestable objects and chest rewards, and it featured in the 2026 demo. An expanded Wildwood is one of the two regions the developers list as arriving with Early Access, so the version shipping on 15 September 2026 is larger than the one demo players saw.
The Corrupted Forest was added in June 2025 with its own music, and a corrupted entrance appears in later fix notes. It is the visible result of the Corruption system that the developers began adding to the map in April 2025 and described as shaping the world story. A corrupted variant of the Treant monster was created alongside it, and the Corrupted Treant is the only boss named first-party as of 2026-09-12.
The Goblin Caves are one of two regions the developers list as new for the Early Access build. As of 2026-09-12, that listing is all that has been published about them: no layout, enemy roster, level range or boss has been named. Goblins have a place in the setting through the Goblin Crisis, a past event in Earlwood’s history, but the developers have not connected the caves to it.
The Lost Caverns were added to the map in July 2025, in the run-up to the first public playtest. Cave ambience music was written in January 2025 and cave atmospheric music in February 2025, so a cave layer of the world predates the Lost Caverns themselves. Flying bats were added as cave fauna in October 2023.
Both were added in May 2025. The Elven Ruins are the only named elven site in the game so far, distinct from the Eternal Forest that elves are said to come from. The Pool of Remembrance was given its own music theme the following month, which is the treatment the developers reserve for places meant to carry weight rather than simply be passed through. Neither has had its function explained in any published post.
Faustas’ Rest is a named scene tied to the wizard Faustas, who recruits the player. It was created in March 2024, redesigned within the same month, had plants added in May 2024 and a training dummy in July 2024, which suggests a safe area used for practice rather than a combat zone. The developers write it both as Faustas’ Rest and Faustas Rest.
The farmlands were one of the three areas available in the 2026 demo, alongside the Wildwood Forest and Earlwood Village. Farming assets were worked on from June 2024. See Farming for the system itself.
Earlwood has a working coastline. A harbour, sailing ship and fishing shop were added in August 2023, with docks, seagulls and a Fisherman NPC. A hot air balloon was added in the same month as transport to the islands, staffed by a Balloon Keeper, and the islands themselves arrived in September 2023 with functional balloon travel. An August 2023 list of upcoming work names island scenes with functional balloon transportation as still to come, and the following month’s post reports them added.
Fishing is a case worth flagging: a fishing shop and a Fisherman NPC exist, and fishing appeared on an August 2023 list of features still to come, but no post in the archive ever reports fishing being completed. As of 2026-09-12 there is no first-party confirmation that fishing is a working mechanic.
A dungeon was added in May 2023 with its own tileset and objects, and dungeon chests appear in July 2025 fix notes. New dungeons are listed among the Early Access additions. No individual dungeon has been named first-party as of 2026-09-12.
Newthcreek is the name of a map in two posts from 2023. It was redone in May 2023 and a Dryad monster was added to it in June 2023. After that it is never mentioned again. In between, a brand new beginner map was reported created in June 2023, and Earlwood was reported complete in August 2023.
The obvious reading is that Newthcreek was the early name of the starting area and that Earlwood replaced it, but the developers have never said so. No post announces a rename, a removal or a relationship between the two. This page therefore records Newthcreek as a 2023 map name with no stated fate, and does not assert that it became Earlwood. It is listed here as development history, not as a place in the current game. See Development History.
Several locations exist in the fiction and in character biographies without having been shown as playable areas. As of 2026-09-12 none of the following has been announced as visitable: the Great City of Aldoria, the Academy of Arcana within it, the Eternal Forest, and the seat of the Minotaur Empire. Aldorian pines exist as a landscape asset, so Aldoria at least has a look, but that is not the same as a visitable city.
