Father Florin

Expanded the diary and church sections with the confirmed wording, added his place among the introduced cast, added the valley chronicle's earlier mention of a father Florin as the knyaz's confessor, and sharpened the list of open questions
Father Florin is the priest of the church in Laslea, Coen's home village in Vale Sangora. The developers introduced him in a bulletin about the connections Coen forms over the course of the game, in the same post that presented Marat, Lacra and Anca. That framing matters: he was announced as part of the circle of people around Coen rather than as background scenery, and the post's closing note was that not everyone Coen meets will be an enemy, and not everyone he knows will remain a friend.
The developers describe the church itself as a place of community gathering, where villagers seek comfort, share whispers and hold on to faith. In a settlement that lost a large part of its population to the plague and now lives under vrakhiri rule, that makes it one of the few rooms where people still talk to each other in numbers.
Through Florin's understanding, the studio adds, it becomes something more than that. He watches his congregation closely, and he treats what he sees as worth writing down.
Florin keeps a diary in which he tracks the people around him: their habits, their fears, and the subtle changes in their behaviour as the valley heads toward what the developers call a new dawn. The confirmed description is specific about how it works. Small details begin to add up, hinting that something is no longer as it should be, and the player is invited to uncover the truth for themselves.
That makes the diary a thread the player is expected to pull rather than flavour text. It also puts Florin alongside Zdislav, the alderman of Laslea, who keeps his own record and leaves behind a warning for future generations: fear the darkness, and beware the unknown. Two men in the same small village, both writing things down, both convinced something is closing in.
The valley's in-world chronicle, published as a sixteen-part lore series, names a father Florin in its final entry. There he is the knyaz's personal confessor, ordered to lead a vigil in the cathedral at Svartrau with every priest in the valley praying day and night as news of the plague reaches them. That entry sits before the events the game opens on, and the studio has not said whether this is the same man, a relative, or simply a common name in the valley. Both records show the same instinct: a priest reaching for parchment when he cannot explain what is happening around him.
Whether Florin can be spoken to, followed, helped or turned against, and whether he is tied to any particular questline.
How the diary is surfaced in play, whether entries are found as readable items, delivered through conversation, or unlocked over the thirty-day cycle.
What he has actually noticed. The confirmed wording says only that the details add up to something being wrong.
Whether he survives. Nothing about his fate has been published, and the game's night systems make no promises about which villagers are still around by the end.
