"A letter from White Crow about Abyss Nexuses."
White Crow's Letter is received after completing the Abyss Without Balance quest during Chapter 1. After the quest concludes, a white bird visits Kliff while he is near an Abyss Nexus point. Allowing the bird to land on Kliff's shoulder triggers the letter delivery. The bird is actually White Crow the Witch, a talking bird that can transform into a woman in white. She is one of the Witches faction NPCs.
Reading the letter provides context about how Abyss Nexuses function as fast travel points across the continent of Pywel. Abyss Nexuses are flat rocky structures with engraved circular patterns scattered throughout the open world. Players can locate them by finding question mark icons on the map, using a high vantage point, and then activating the Blinding Flash technique to reveal shimmering spots nearby.
Receiving the letter also initiates the Witches faction questline. The follow-up quest, The Hermit Witch, leads Kliff to Sylvia, the Novice Witch, who enables Abyss Gear embedding, extraction, and socket creation on equipment.
Sealed Letter - A mystically sealed letter from a mysterious woman
Unsealed Letter - The same letter after the seal fades
Axiom Bracelet - Kliff's primary magical tool, also obtained during the Abyss quests
White Crow's Letter is obtained during the Turnali's Request quest. Players must equip a lantern and activate Focus Mode (CTRL on keyboard) to reveal the White Crow's invisible trail. The trail leads through Hernand Town, with faint visual indicators marking the bird's path. Once Kliff reaches the correct point, the White Crow lands on his right shoulder and a "Take" prompt appears.
The letter introduces the Abyss Nexus system, which serves as Crimson Desert's fast travel mechanic. It explains that Abyss Nexuses are scattered throughout Pywel and can be used to teleport between activated locations.
Hidden by default: Nexuses are invisible until revealed with a lantern or the Blinding Flash ability.
Activation: Stand on a revealed Nexus to activate it permanently.
Fast travel: Once activated, Nexuses become selectable destinations on the map, enabling fast travel across Pywel.
White Crow's Letter is a one-time informational item that remains in the inventory.
The White Crow is a witch associated with Abyss-related knowledge throughout the game.
This letter is separate from the Sealed Letter and Unsealed Letter, which are delivered later in Chapter 5.
