The Flames of Greed is a main quest in Chapter 2: Golden Greed. After meeting Shakatu at the Goldleaf Tradepost, Kliff encounters a nun on the roadside who desperately needs help. Her healer's house is on fire in Windland Heights near Unicorn Cliff. The quest features a 120-second timed rescue sequence where Kliff must use Nature's Grasp to clear debris and pull a man named Marten from the burning building.

After completing The Dark Veil, follow the quest marker along the road from the Goldleaf Tradepost. A nun is standing by the roadside with two strangers. A cutscene triggers where she explains that their community's healer is in danger and she needs help immediately. Her panic is genuine and the urgency is clear.
Mount your horse and ride to Windland Heights, located southeast of the Goldleaf Tradepost near Unicorn Cliff. When you get close, a cutscene shows the residence engulfed in flames with villagers standing outside, unable to help. Someone is trapped inside.
After the cutscene, a 120-second countdown begins. You need to act quickly but deliberately:
Clear the entrance: Two large wooden logs block the doorway. Use Nature's Grasp (Triangle + Circle on PlayStation, Y + B on Xbox, then tap X/A) to lift each log out of the way. Each log takes a few seconds to move.
Vault over the second obstruction: A partially collapsed beam blocks the hallway inside. Vault over it by pressing the climb/jump button.
Find Marten: The unconscious man is lying on the floor in the upper-right corner of the building. Navigate through the smoke and fire to reach him.
Carry him out: Press Square/X to pick Marten up, then walk him back outside to safety through the same path you entered.
A cutscene plays once you bring Marten outside. The nun and her companions are relieved that Marten is safe, but they reveal a bigger problem: their actual healer, Hubert, has been kidnapped by bandits. They plead with Kliff to find and rescue Hubert, which sets up the next quest.

The two-minute timer is generous if you know what to do. The Nature's Grasp animation takes a few seconds per log, and the path to Marten is short. Most players finish with over a minute to spare.
If you fail the timer, you respawn right before the burning building and can try again immediately. There is no penalty for failure.
The Abyss Artifact reward is useful for upgrading your abilities. Do not forget to pick it up from the quest completion screen.
Hubert, the kidnapped healer, becomes the focus of the next quest, Kidnapped Healer. The storyline shifts from rescue to tracking down the people responsible for the kidnapping.
This is one of the few quests in Chapter 2 with zero combat. The challenge is purely mechanical and time-based.
