Overview

The Sunset Reed Leather Armor is a Body Armor piece in Crimson Desert. It is a leather chest piece offering 10 base Defense alongside Movement Speed Lv.1, Lightning Resistance Lv.1, and a 2% increase to Stamina regeneration. These combined bonuses make it a strong all-around option for players who value both survivability and mobility.

The armor is part of the Sunset Reed gear collection, which also includes the Sunset Reed Cloth Gloves and the Sunset Reed Leather Cloak. While the gloves are obtained as a boss drop from the Reed Devil and the cloak is found in the Castlewood Ruinsthe body armor is located in the Echoing Waves Cave in southern Hernand. The Sunset Reed Leather Armor has one of the higher base Defense values among leather chest pieces, making it competitive with late-game plate armor options.

Stats

With 10 base Defense, the Sunset Reed Leather Armor sits among the higher-defense leather body armor pieces in the game. For comparison, the Blackwing Leather Armor offers 12 Defense, while most other leather chest pieces sit in the 3 to 8 range. The Lightning Resistance Lv.1 provides minor elemental protection that stacks with resistance from other gear slots, and the 2% Stamina Regen bonus helps sustain combat actions over longer fights.

Location

The Sunset Reed Leather Armor is found inside the Echoing Waves Cavelocated in the southern part of the Hernand region. The cave entrance is hidden behind a waterfall in the Thornbriar Mountains area. describes the cave as a place where "the wind seeps through narrow crevices, wandering the empty space with a low, whistling hum" that "dulls one's perception and lures the mind into a peculiar, dreamlike trance."

How to Obtain

1. Travel to the southern portion of the Hernand region, near the Thornbriar Mountains.

2. Look for a waterfall along the river. The cave entrance is concealed behind the falling water.

3. Pass through the waterfall to enter the Echoing Waves Cave. You can use the Stab armed skill to move through without taking damage from the water.

4. Explore the interior of the cave and locate the treasure chest containing the Sunset Reed Leather Armor.

No combat encounters are required to obtain this armor. The only challenge is finding the cave entrance, which is not marked on the map until you discover it.

Sunset Reed Gear Collection

The Sunset Reed Leather Armor is one of three known Sunset Reed equipment pieces in the game. Each piece is obtained through a different method and found in a separate location.

The Sunset Reed Cloth Gloves are arguably the most well-known piece, as they are a reward from the Chapter 3 quest "The Face Behind the Mask" and come with two open Abyss Core sockets plus the Slashing Reed skill. The body armor and cloak, by contrast, require exploration to find but can both be obtained without any combat.

Tips

• Pair with other Sunset Reed pieces. Equipping the body armor alongside the Sunset Reed Leather Cloak and Sunset Reed Cloth Gloves gives a cohesive gear setup that balances defense, mobility, and elemental resistance.

• Lightning Resistance stacking. The Lightning Resistance Lv.1 on this armor stacks with resistance from other equipment slots. If you are heading into an area with lightning-based enemiescombining this with other lightning-resistant gear can make a noticeable difference.

• Stamina management. The 2% Stamina Regen bonus is subtle but valuable in extended combat encounters where Stamina management becomes critical. It pairs well with builds that rely on heavy dodge rolling or sustained combo attacks.

• Explore waterfall caves. Many of the best armor pieces in Crimson Desert are hidden behind waterfalls. If you see a waterfall, try walking or using the Stab skill to pass through it.
