Corrected patch 1.08.00 release date from May 21 to May 22, 2026 per official notice
Shotguns are a firearm category in Crimson Desert used exclusively by Damiane. Firearms challenges must be completed as Damiane because she is the only character who can equip firearms in the base game.

Shotguns fire a cone of pellets rather than a single projectile. The damage drops off at longer range, but at close to medium distance the spread makes them extremely effective at hitting multiple enemies with a single shot. They are a natural fit for Damiane's aggressive style, which balances firearms openers with rapid melee follow-ups.

Patch 1.08.00 (May 22, 2026) extends shotgun usage from Damiane to Kliff. After 1.08.00, Kliff can equip muskets and shotguns in the same ranged slot and ammunition framework as Damiane has been able to since launch. This means the Firearms challenge set is no longer restricted to a single playable character.
The change is documented in the official Patch 1.08.00 notes. Players returning to the Firearms challenges with Kliff can now check off shotgun-specific completion objectives that previously could only be cleared with Damiane.
