The Power Core - Casket of Illusions is hunted from abyss monsters rather than crafted. When a specific power core is required for a craft, abyss monster drops are the only source, and you need to target the group that carries this variant specifically rather than taking any power core you happen to collect.
The main use of this power core is as a crafting material for Kuku Flame Resistant Armor. The armor itself is the recommended chest piece for the end-game turning slash two-handed sword build, so players chasing that build need exactly one Casket of Illusions power core in addition to a base Scorch Flame Plate Armor, the Core of Deliverance from the Sanctum of Deliverance blinding flash puzzle, and an enhanced Kuku Pot.
