Palmar Pill

Fixed typos: Paloon → Pailune (×1)

The Palmar Pill is a consumable item in Crimson Desert that allows Kliff to revive with 30% of his maximum health when he falls in combat. The pill activates automatically on death, giving the player the option to respawn on the spot instead of reloading from a checkpoint. Palmar Pills work against all causes of death, including boss fights, regular enemy encounters, and even falling damage.
Because Crimson Desert does not feature an automatic resurrection mechanic, Palmar Pills are among the most important consumables in the game. Finding the crafting recipe early and keeping a stock of pills on hand greatly improves survival, especially during difficult encounters in the Abyss and against tougher bosses.
There are two main ways to obtain Palmar Pills: finding them in the open world and crafting them at a cauldron.
Palmar Pills can be found at grave sites and graveyards scattered throughout Pywel. They are often placed on top of gravestones or similar monuments. These pickups are limited, so relying on world drops alone is not sustainable for longer playthroughs.
The Palmar Pill Crafting Manual is located in a cave a short distance north of Hernand, just west of the bridge. The cave sits in a cliffside and contains a witch's alchemy chamber. The crafting manual is on the right side of the room. A cauldron is also present on the left side of the cave, so you can begin crafting immediately after picking up the recipe.
This location is accessible very early in the game, and finding it quickly is one of the best things a new player can do. Three free Palmar Pills are also sitting inside the cave alongside the manual.
An alternative copy of the crafting manual can be found during one of the Pororin Forest research quests.
Palmar Pills are crafted at any Cauldron found throughout the world. The recipe requires the following base ingredients:
Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
2 | |
Herb or mushroom (see below) | 15 |
The second ingredient slot accepts any one of the following materials. You need 15 of a single type; they cannot be mixed within one craft.

In total, 31 different materials can serve as the secondary ingredient, giving players a great deal of flexibility. All 15 must be the same type; you cannot mix different herbs in a single craft. Peonies, Lavender, Rosemary, and Begonias are extremely common and grow in large patches across Pywel. These are the easiest ingredients to stockpile.
Red Croton fields near the Witch's house in the Witchwoods provide a reliable farming spot.
Water can be gathered from rivers, wells, and lake edges throughout the world.
Keeping at least a few Palmar Pills on hand before entering any Abyss dungeon or tackling a major boss fight is highly recommended.
The in-game item name uses "Palmar" (not "Palmer"), though some community guides use the alternate spelling.
The Palmar Pill has a sell value but is far more useful as a safety net in combat than as a source of income.
The earliest accessible cauldron is inside the same cave where the crafting manual is found, northwest of Hernand.
The upgraded Refined Palmar Pill recipe can be learned through Improvise at any cauldron without waiting for its story unlock. The input order is Palmar Leaf, Palmar Beetle, Ginseng or Longcorn, and water, in that exact sequence. Each successful craft fills the recipe knowledge bar by 25 to 30 percent, so three Improvise crafts at a cauldron in Harnandes or your home base permanently unlock the recipe under the Special Items tab. Full walkthrough at Palmar Pill Recipe and Farming.
Both standard and refined palmar pill recipes that involve ginseng require regular Ginseng, not Wild Ginseng. The two items use an identical inventory icon, which causes constant confusion. If a craft fails or the Improvise unlock makes no progress, double-check whether the slot actually contains Ginseng rather than Wild Ginseng. Regular ginseng can be stolen from the red flowers at the Scholar's Stone Institute garden as early as chapter 4 with a mask, or bought five at a time from the rebuilt merchant in Pailune after Chapter 9.
