Crimson Desert launched on March 19, 2026, with multiple retail editions across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Mac App Store). Physical distribution is handled by Plaion (formerly Koch Media/Deep Silver). Editions range from the base Standard Edition at $69.99 to the limited-run Collector's Edition at $279.99.
All bonus items included with higher-tier editions are cosmetic and do not provide gameplay advantages over equipment found through normal progression. Pearl Abyss has confirmed that Crimson Desert has zero microtransactions at launch, and any future content additions will come as paid expansions rather than incremental purchases.
The table below summarizes each edition and its retail price in US dollars. All editions include the full base game.
Edition | Format | Price (USD) | Platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
Standard Edition | Digital | $69.99 | PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Mac |
Day-One Edition | Physical | $69.99 | PS5 only |
SteelBook Edition | Physical | $69.99 | PS5 only |
Digital Deluxe Edition | Digital | $79.99 | PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC |
Physical Deluxe Edition | Physical | $89.99 | PS5, Xbox Series X|S |
Collector's Edition | Physical | $279.99 | PS5, Xbox Series X (Amazon Exclusive) |
The Standard Edition is the base version of Crimson Desert, available in both digital and physical formats. It includes the full game with no additional in-game bonus items beyond the pre-order bonus and any platform-exclusive content.
On PlayStation 5, three physical variants of the Standard Edition were released at the same $69.99 price point: the Day-One Edition (standard packaging), the SteelBook Edition (collectible metal case), and the standard physical copy. All three contain the same game disc and in-game content. The only difference is the packaging itself.
The Mac App Store version is available as a digital Standard Edition only at $69.99. The macOS version does not include a pre-order bonus and has no Deluxe or Collector's Edition options. It requires macOS 15.0 or later and an Apple M1 chip or newer.
All pre-orders of Crimson Desert, regardless of edition or platform, included the Khaled Shield as an exclusive in-game item. The Khaled Shield is a usable shield that provides defensive utility during the early hours of the game. It was exclusively available through pre-ordering and cannot be obtained through any post-launch purchase.
The Mac App Store edition did not offer a pre-order bonus.
Every PS5 copy of Crimson Desert, regardless of edition, includes the Grotevant Plate Set as a platform-exclusive bonus. This is not limited to pre-orders; it is included with all PS5 copies purchased at any time. Xbox, PC, and Mac players do not receive this set.
The Grotevant Plate Set is a full five-piece armor set consisting of the following pieces:
Piece | |
|---|---|
Head | |
Chest | |
Back | |
Hands | |
Feet |
The Deluxe Edition is available in two formats: Digital Deluxe ($79.99) and Physical Deluxe ($89.99). Both formats include the same in-game items. The Physical Deluxe Edition adds a set of tangible collectibles and is available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In addition to the base game, the Deluxe Edition includes the Deluxe Pack, which contains the Kairos Plate Set, the Balgran Shield, and the Exclaire Horse Tack Set. Standard Edition owners can purchase the Deluxe Pack separately after launch for $12.99 on all digital storefronts.
The Kairos Plate Armor set is a five-piece armor set with a distinctive gold-plated design featuring red accents on the tassets, helm plume, and cloak. It can only be equipped by Kliff, the game's protagonist. The set's stats scale based on player progression, so it is not always a strict upgrade over other options. The Kairos Plate Helm provides Daze Immunity, and the Gloves offer higher Attack than comparable early-game equipment. Players can expect to find gear of similar quality within the first 5 to 10 hours of play.
Piece | Notable Feature | |
|---|---|---|
Head | Daze Immunity | |
Chest | Gold-plated with red tasset accents | |
Back | Red cloth accent | |
Hands | Higher Attack than early-game gloves | |
Feet | Gold-plated design |
The Balgran Shield is a cosmetic shield included in the Deluxe Pack. It features the visage of a wolf on its face and serves as an ornate alternative to shields found through regular gameplay.
The Exclaire Horse Tack Set matches the gold-and-red aesthetic of the Kairos Plate Armor. Unlike the Kairos armor, the Exclaire tack provides a strict upgrade over all horse equipment available at the start of the game, offering small bonuses to mount Health, Health Regeneration, Attack, and Armor. These bonuses are noticeable early on but will be outclassed by tack obtained through later progression.
Piece | Slot | Description |
|---|---|---|
Head | Gold-plated head armor for your horse | |
Body | Gold-plated body armor with red cloth accents | |
Saddle | Ornate saddle matching the gold and red theme | |
Stirrups | Matching stirrups completing the full set |
The Physical Deluxe Edition ($89.99) includes all Deluxe Pack in-game items along with the following tangible collectibles:
Limited SteelBook with game disc
Map of Pywel (paper fold-out map showing the continent and its regions)
Letter from the Developer (a physical letter from the Pearl Abyss development team)
3 Character Photo Cards
Greymane Brooch Pin (a collectible metal pin featuring the Greymane mercenary band insignia)
3 Embroidered Patches
The Collector's Edition ($279.99) is a limited-run physical release that was available exclusively through Amazon for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Pearl Abyss confirmed that it will not be reprinted once initial stock is sold out. It includes everything in the Deluxe Edition plus the Ultimate Pack and a set of premium physical collectibles.
The Ultimate Pack is exclusive to the Collector's Edition and cannot be purchased separately or obtained through any other edition. It contains three weapon skins, a lantern skin, and a second horse tack set.
Item | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
Bow | A bow with a dark, haunting visual design | |
Spear | A cosmetic spear skin | |
Longsword | A cosmetic longsword skin | |
A cosmetic skin for the player's lantern | ||
Hyperion Horse Tack Set | Mount Equipment | A full horse tack set (champron, barding, saddle, stirrups) |
The Hyperion Horse Tack Set consists of the Hyperion Champron, Hyperion Barding, Hyperion Saddle, and Hyperion Stirrups.
The Collector's Edition physical collectibles include everything from the Physical Deluxe Edition (with the map upgraded to fabric) along with the following premium items:
17-inch Hand-Painted Diorama depicting Kliff in combat atop the dragon Golden Star. This is the centerpiece of the Collector's Edition, measuring approximately 17 x 11 x 10 inches.
Fabric Map of Pywel (an upgraded cloth version of the paper map included in the Physical Deluxe Edition, showing the continent of Pywel and its five regions)
Limited SteelBook with game disc (different cover art from the Deluxe SteelBook)
Letter from the Developer
3 Character Photo Cards
Greymane Brooch Pin
3 Embroidered Patches
Collector's Box (premium packaging housing all physical items)

Pre-order bonuses, Deluxe Pack items, and Ultimate Pack items are not automatically added to your inventory when you start the game. They must be claimed manually through the in-game menu system.
To claim your bonus items, follow these steps:
Open the Pause Menu (ESC on PC, Options on PS5, Menu on Xbox)
Navigate to the Others section
Select the Options subsection
Choose Add-Ons from the menu
All receivable items will be listed; select each one and confirm to claim it
Once claimed, items are placed in a Supply Chest rather than directly into your inventory. You can access the Supply Chest after reaching Hernand City and waking up at your tent in the Royal Trading Post (it sits right beside the bed). If you have unlocked the Greymane Camp at Howling Hill, the Supply Chest relocates behind the quartermaster Carl.
Players who pre-ordered Crimson Desert (any edition) also received bonus items in Black Desert Online and Black Desert Mobile as part of a cross-game promotion. These rewards were distributed after Crimson Desert's launch on March 19, 2026.
Game | |
|---|---|
Black Desert Online | Ashen Crow Horse Gear, Dream Arduanatt Horse Emblem, Golden Star Pet, Golden Star Statue |
Black Desert Mobile | Ashen Crow Barding, 4,000 Black Pearls, Golden Star Pet, Golden Star Statue |
After the pre-order period has ended, the availability of edition-exclusive items changes as follows:

Ultimate Pack | Not available separately; Collector's Edition exclusive |
Physical Collectibles | Limited to Collector's Edition while supplies last; will not be reprinted |
BDO Crossover Rewards | No longer available; required a Crimson Desert pre-order |
Not every edition is available on every platform. The following sections detail what is available on each.
PS5 has the widest selection with six total options: Day-One Edition, SteelBook Edition, Standard Digital, Physical Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and Collector's Edition. All PS5 editions include the Grotevant Plate Set as a platform exclusive. The Physical Deluxe and Collector's Editions are available in physical format with disc and collectibles.
Xbox offers three options: Standard Digital, Digital Deluxe, and Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition is available only for Xbox Series X (not Series S) because it requires a physical disc. Xbox players do not receive the Grotevant Plate Set. The Physical Deluxe Edition is available for Xbox in select regions.
PC players can purchase the Standard Digital Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition through Steam or the Epic Games Store. No physical PC editions are available. PC players do not receive the Grotevant Plate Set.
The Mac version is available as a Digital Standard Edition only at $69.99. There is no Deluxe Edition, Collector's Edition, or pre-order bonus for the Mac version. Mac players do not receive the Khaled Shield, the Grotevant Plate Set, or any edition-exclusive cosmetics. The game requires macOS 15.0 and an Apple M1 chip or later.
