With the safe house secured, Kliff moves to rescue Shane from the heart of the enemy camp in Pailune. Shane is badly hurt but stable. After handing him over to Oongka for care, Kliff must find a hidden explosive device and plant it at the harbor. The charges are part of the plan to breach Pailune's walls during the coming assault.
Enter the marked house to trigger a cutscene. Shane is found inside, injured. No combat or puzzle elements are involved in this step.
Navigate to the objective marker. You will find two barrels and a body blocking a door. Move these obstructions to reveal a red trapdoor hidden beneath them. Open the trapdoor and collect the explosive device inside.
Travel to the harbor area of Pailune. Navigate to the last dock at the end of the pier. Interact with a small boat (hold Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox) to plant the explosive on the vessel.
Important: Stealth is completely unnecessary during this section. You can run past all enemies without consequence. If you are detected, nothing changes. The mission does not fail, and guards do not pursue you aggressively.
The quest concludes immediately after planting the explosive. There is no additional wait or combat step.
Do not waste time trying to sneak past guards. Running directly to each objective is faster and carries no penalty.
The obstructions near the trapdoor (barrels and a body) can be moved by interacting with them individually. There is no puzzle; just clear them out of the way.
This quest flows directly into Lurking Wolves, so be ready for the next step immediately.
Save your progress before starting this quest, especially if you are playing on a higher difficulty setting.
Late-game quests ramp up in difficulty significantly. Make sure your equipment is fully enhanced and your consumable stock is replenished before entering each new quest.
