Overview

The Crossroads Necklace is an Epic (Tier 4) necklace accessory in Crimson Desert. It provides modest base stats of 3 Attack and 3 Defense, but its real draw is the Crossroads active skill it grants to the wearer. This skill is one of the most unpredictable effects in the game: upon activation, it either restores or drains a massive chunk of the wearer's Health, estimated at roughly 75% of maximum HP. The necklace cannot be refined, so the base stats remain fixed at +0.

The Crossroads Necklace is obtained during the quest chain that ultimately leads to the Rainstorm Necklace. It is an intermediate reward from the Crossroads of Succession quest line, which becomes available after completing Chapter 7 of the main story.

Crossroads Effect

The Crossroads skill is an active ability tied to this necklace. When activated, it produces one of two outcomes at random:

Heal: Restores a massive amount of health to the wearer, estimated at approximately 75% of maximum HP.
Damage: Drains the same massive amount of health from the wearer, also estimated at approximately 75% of maximum HP.

Testing with a character at 900 HP showed the effect swinging health by roughly 675 points in either direction. It has not been confirmed whether the value scales as a flat number or as a percentage of the wearer's maximum health, though percentage-based scaling is the most commonly accepted theory.

Cooldown and Spam Potential

The Crossroads skill has a very short cooldown, allowing the wearer to activate it repeatedly in quick succession. This means a player can "spam" the effect during combat, rolling the dice multiple times in a row. The upside is that a lucky streak of heals can keep you alive through otherwise fatal encounters. The downside is equally dramatic: a bad roll at low health will kill you on the spot.

Risk and Reward

The Crossroads Necklace is a pure gamble. Unlike most accessories that provide consistent, predictable benefits, this necklace introduces a coin-flip mechanic that can swing a fight in either direction. A single activation can save a player from the brink of death or instantly end a run. This volatility makes it polarizing among players. Some enjoy the high-stakes thrill, while others prefer the reliability of necklaces with deterministic effects like the Rainstorm Necklace.

At full health, the risk is relatively low since even the negative outcome will not kill outright. The danger increases sharply at lower health values, where the drain can push the player past zero. Timing activations when health is above 75% maximizes the chance of survival regardless of outcome.

How to Obtain

The Crossroads Necklace is rewarded at the end of the Bloodied Path quest, which is part of a longer quest chain connected to the Rainstorm Necklace progression. The full sequence is as follows:

Complete Chapter 7 of the main story.
Complete "Dark Shadow Engulfing the Fort", a Pailune militia quest that becomes available after Chapter 7.
Complete all 9 "Crossroads of Succession" quests. These form a multi-part quest chain that explores the political tensions within the region.
Complete the "Bloodied Path" quest. This quest culminates in a boss fight against Blood Walker Cruis.
Collect your reward. Handing in the completed Bloodied Path quest grants the Crossroads Necklace.

Blood Walker Cruis Boss Fight

The final obstacle before obtaining the necklace is the Blood Walker Cruis boss encounter. This is a gimmick fight with a specific strategy:

Use Force Palm attacks to fill the boss's stagger bar.
Once the stagger bar is full, Blood Walker Cruis collapses, exposing a glowing core.
Attack the core aggressively while the boss is down.
Repeat this cycle of staggering and core attacks until the boss is defeated.

Upon defeating Blood Walker Cruis, the boss drops a core item that can be stored in your Kuku pot. Turning in the quest with this core is what awards the Crossroads Necklace.

Usage Tips

Use at high health: Activating Crossroads when your health is above 75% ensures that even the negative result will not kill you outright.
Pair with healing items: Keep healing potions or food ready to recover quickly if the effect drains your health.
Avoid using at low health: Below 75% HP, the drain outcome is potentially lethal. Switch to conventional healing methods when health is critical.
Spam cautiously: The short cooldown lets you roll repeatedly, but each activation is an independent coin flip. Consecutive bad results will stack and kill you quickly.
Best for non-critical content: The necklace is entertaining for general exploration and lower-stakes encounters. For difficult boss battles where consistency matters, a more reliable accessory is recommended.
Consider your build: Characters with higher maximum HP pools have more room to absorb a bad Crossroads result, making the necklace slightly safer on tanky builds.
